The Australia tour of South Africa has produced some of the most memorable matches in the game's history and this series is no exception. However, after South Africa’s win in the last game, this series is on a cliffhanger, making it quite the watch.

Australia came into the ODI series on the back of a dominant display in the T20is by winning it 3-0. With 2 wins in the first 2 games, they would’ve wanted to whitewash them in the ODI series too, but with a loss in the last game, they would want to wrap up the series in the next game.

South Africa have been completely outplayed in this tour, but a win in their last game would have boosted them. They go into the next game with their confidence high and will want to take this game into the 5th ODI decider.

South Africa Preview

After a dominant comeback in the T20is and 2 wins to start off this ODI series, Australia would have been extremely happy with the way they have played so far. However, with a loss in their last game, they will look to get back to winning ways and win the series.

After winning the toss and opting to field first, Australia would have not expected the start the Africans got off to. They were put on the back foot from ball 1 and were unable to make inroads as the opposition ended up with a score of 338.  Travis Head was the top wicket-taker with 2 for 39 runs.

Chasing the target of 339 was not going to be an easy task, but with the batting lineup they had, they would have backed themselves. Getting off to a magnificent start they could not make the most of it as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 227 runs in 34.3 overs. David Warner was the top scorer with 78 runs.

Australia Preview

South Africa has been one of the most impressive teams in the ODI format and with the win in the last game, they have proved it yet again. They would’ve been unhappy with their performance in the first 2 games but with a win in the last game, they will want to continue on this path.

South Africa lost the toss and was put into bat. They got off to a brilliant start and with the top order firing they got to a total of 338 runs. Aiden Markram was fantastic as he scored 102 runs off just 74 balls. Quinton de Kock also scored a brilliant 82 of 77 balls.

The bowling department had a really good total in front of them, but still had to be on their best game in front of the mighty Australian batting lineup. Despite they getting off to a good start the bowlers made a brilliant come back bowling the Australians out for 227 runs and winning the match by 111 runs. Gerald Coetzee picked up 4 wickets for 50 runs.

Key Players: Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, Gerald Coetzee, Tabraiz Shamsi

RSA vs AUS Pitch Report

The Super Sport Park in Centurion, South Africa has a crowd capacity of 22,000 people. The stadium is an extremely good batting wicket which remains the same throughout the match making it thoroughly entertaining.

Toss: To Bowl

As both teams possess a strong batting unit, teams will look to win the toss and bowl first and chase down the target. The record on this ground also suggests the same as the team bowling first has won 35 out of the last 64 games played here.

Australia has played extremely well in the series so far but will want to win the ODI series and win the series as soon as possible. South Africa will want to make a comeback in the series and take this game into the last match of the series hoping to win it.

We predict that South Africa will defeat Australia.
