England moved to the top of the T20I rankings in the ICC ratings with their 3-0 whitewash against South Africa. In ODI format they are the No.1 ranked team already and are the current ODI Champions too. England has been playing an impressive brand cricket for the past 4-5 years and looking limitless at the moment. They have a team that has balance depth and balance which every team dreams to have. South Africa has fared better in the ODI format in their recent matches and is in a 5-series winning streak currently at home. They will look to let go of their T20I loss and avenge England in the ODI format.
South Africa batting line-up is expected to have a new makeover with the likes of Janneman Malan, Heinrich Klassen, and Kyle Vereynne expected to return to the playing XI. Van Der Dussen and Faf Du Plessis were amongst the runs in the T20I series and are expected to play a vital role in the Odis too alongside skipper Quinton De Kock.
Their bowling unit took a big blow with their strike bowler Kagiso Rabada ruled out of the series. Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will share the new ball with a toss-up between Junior Dala, Lutho Simpala, and Beuran Hendricks for the third seamer`s spot. George Linde might come in as the second spinner alongside Tambraiz Shamsi in the ODI matches after his impressive showing in the T20Is.
Top players to bet on:
Faf Du Plessis – Faf made two 50+ scores in the three T20I matches and helped his team to score 180+ totals in both the matches. Faf will look to bat around the middle order in the ODIs too and lead his team to a good score.
George Linde – Linde impressed with his all-round skills in T20Is scoping vital runs at the death (41 runs at a strike rate of 157) & bowling economical overs upfront in the powerplay (2 wickets at an economy rate of 6 RPO).
Quinton De Kock (C & wk), Janneman Malan, Faf Du Plessis, Heinrich Klassen, JJ Smuts, Rassie Van Der Dussen, Anrich Nortje, Lutho Simpala/Junior Dala, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi, George Linde
England side will be bolstered by the return of Joe Root, Chris Woakes, and Liam Livingstone. Jason Roy and Johnny Bairstow will open the batting with Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, and Jos Buttler expected to form a destructive middle order combination. Sam Billings might get a chance in the playing XI depending on their team combination as his inclusion will leave them with just 5 bowlers.
Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, and Tom Curran will form their pace bowling department with Jofra Archer rested. Lewis Gregory, Olly Stone, and Reece Topley will add depth to their fast bowling reserves in the squad. Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali are the spin bowlers available in the squad.
Top players to bet on:
Jos Buttler – Buttler scored 67 runs off 45 balls sharing massive 150+ run partnership in the third T20I match. We expect him to play aggressively in the ODIs too.
Adil Rashid – Rashid is the highest wicket-taker for England in the limited overs. He has been their No.1 spinner in the ODI matches and we expect him to continue his good form in this series too.
Eoin Morgan (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Johnny Bairstow, Joe Root, Sam Billings/Lewis Gregory, Jason Roy, Mark Wood, Tom Curran, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes
Cape Town is expected to have a dark and gloomy weather with overcast conditions on the match day. But, we expect rain won’t make a big impact in this match and no overs will be lost to its interference.
Newlands pitch was an absolute belter and we saw score in excess of 180+ runs in the recent T20I matches played here. We expect the average scores to be around 280-300 runs on this track.
No target is safe at this venue and the pitch is expected to be same throughout the match. England won all the T20I matches chasing the target. Both captains will look to chase in this match.
England has one of the most settled batting line-ups in the ODI format currently. They will miss the all-round services of Ben Stokes but has Woakes, Moeen Ali, and Gregory in their squad. South Africa are a team that is looking to find their footing in the international stage after a down fall. They won their last ODIs series 3-0 against Australia which might give them a lot of confidence. We expect England to win this match owing to their strong team composition and psychological edge over South Africa with a 3-0 win in the T20Is.
ENGLAND will win the match & go up 1-0
