From Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock’s opening partnership to South Africa bowlers doing well in the final overs of the innings.

Skipper Quinton de Kock led the way with the bat and smashed 31 runs off 15 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. Left-hander has shown impeccable form with the bat so far in this home season.

Besides, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen contributed with notable scores for the side. Promoted to open the innings, Bavuma played exceedingly well and finished the innings with the top-score of 43 runs off 27 balls with the help of five boundaries. Rassie van der Dussen looked in decent touch with the bat and scored 31 runs off 26 balls with the help of three fours and one six. David Miller, JJ Smuts and Andile Phehlukwayo also contributed with crucial cameos to help South Africa post a competitive score in the opening game.

In the bowling department, pacer Lungi Ngidi was the star performer with the ball for South Africa in the previous game. Despite conceding a lot of runs in his first spell, Ngidi made a terrific comeback and picked three wickets at the end to see South Africa pull off an amazing win.

Eoin Morgan will feel that the side became complacent at the end and lost the game in the final over of the innings. In the bowling department, the spin duo of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid bowled well in the previous game. Both of them conceded less than six runs an over and did not allow South African batsmen to score any quick runs.
