Friday's first game of the series turned out to be quite a one-sided affair with India posting 202/8 before bowling out South Africa for 141 before the end of the 18th over. In some ways, the 61 run winning margin flattered South Africa more than India as at one stage the tourists were 167/2 from 14.3 overs and looked like targeting 230+.
But this is a new game at a new venue and both teams begin with no runs or wickets on the board!
The issue for the hosts is that they still seem to be hurting from their 2024 T20 World Cup Final to India. They need to strike out from this and they are likely to do so only by matching the attacking intent of India.
South Africa need to come out all guns blazing in Gqeberha and we expect they will!

With their current poor form, and disappointing results against India in their last two games, South Africa will be desperate to get off to a strong start in this match whether it is with bat or ball.
In the field, they should approach this game with a strong mind-set as their bowlers pulled India back from the initial demolition of the bowling attack. Gerard Coetzee is a real warrior and we can expect him to bowl with pace, aggression and accuracy.
With the bat, it was Coetzee who top scored in Durban but there were starts for Ryan Rickelton (21), Heinrich Klaasen (25) and David Miller (18). South Africa will need one of those to go on and make at least a half-century if they are to be competitive and get back into this series!
David Miller scored 18 runs in the last game and he has looked in good touch, with South Africa 0-1 in the series expect Miller to step up in today's game. He has scores of 43, 4, 21 & 18 runs in his last four T20I innings. Given his recent form, we back Miller to score over 17.5 runs.

India got on top early in Durban and never looked back! A great example of this is the fact that the win probability graph never once dipped out of India's half and at the end of the first innings of the game, India were up at 79.35%.
After hitting 107 runs from 50 balls, and hitting his second T20I century in a row, Sanju Samson is showing everyone around the world what a great player he is. IPL fans have long known how good he is but now we are seeing it at international level and we can expect his confidence levels to be at an all time high.
There are plenty of other runs in this India side with captain Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh all capable of the big scores.
With the ball, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi all arrive in Gqeberha after impressing in Durban.
India smashed a total of 13 sixes in the 1st T20I, the Indian batting lineup boasts power hitters who can smash sixes at will and given the inexperienced bowling lineup of the Proteas, expect another high six hitting game and India's total tally of 6's over 9.5.

It looks like being a very humid afternoon and evening in Gqeberha. There might be a bit of rain just before the toss but overall it looks like being a dry affair. We can expect cloud cover throughout with the temperature around 19 degrees from start to finish.
There is often a bit of movement early on at this ground but thereafter it tends to be a very strong pitch for batting on. Whoever bats first will be looking to post a total of 195+ to be competitive in this T20I.
The pitch at St. George's park is a balanced one, where the average total match score in the last three T20I matches played at this venue is 321. So we predict another moderate scoring game where the total match score is under 356.5.
The last T20I at this venue was won by South Africa against India and saw the hosts field first. In total, we have seen two teams win when fielding first and two win when batting first in T20Is here, so, after the last experience here, we expect both captains to want to bowl first.
India were way too strong for South Africa in Durban on Friday and we expect them to be victorious again in Gqeberha. The hosts have plenty of match-winners in their side but we think India have the consistent performers and they very rarely lose in this format!
We are backing India to win!
