South Africa will look to take an unassailable lead when they take on India this Wednesday in the third T20I at SuperSport Park. The series currently stands at 1-1, with both sides securing one win each. With just two games remaining, winning the third game will be of vital consequence as it means the side can’t lose the series. SuperSport Park has offered several run feasts of late, and we are expecting another cracker of a high-scoring game here.

After being thumped in the first T20I, the home side brought their A game in the second match to secure a thrilling win. Tristan Stubbs' responsible 47 off 41 balls, along with a quick 19 off 9 from Gerald Coetzee, and smart bowling led South Africa to a three-wicket victory, leveling the series after they were struggling at 86 for 7 while chasing 124.
This was a much-needed win, as South Africa’s top and middle order has largely underperformed this series. The likes of Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and David Miller haven’t lived up to their billing. Klaasen and Miller have had a great run in the format, and you can back them to come up with a special effort here.
Stubbs has looked in incredible form and we are backing him to continue the good run.
South Africa’s bowling, despite missing Kagiso Rabada, looks pretty solid. Gerald Coetzee and Marco Jansen have done a fine job. Andile Simelane and Nqabayomzi Peter are inexperienced and might go for runs on this beautiful batting track.

India will be disappointed with their overall performance in the second T20I. First, their batters failed to get going on a seaming track and could only manage 124-6. Then, when they had South Africa on the ropes at 66-6, courtesy of Varun Chakaravarthy's career-best figures of 5-17, the fast bowlers messed up big time and allowed South Africa to coast home.
India have played with seven proper batters in the first two T20Is, which leaves them with a rather long tail. This means at least two from Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Rinku Singh must get a big score. Samson did that in the first match with a spectacular hundred, but it didn’t happen in the next game.
Unfortunately, captain Suryakumar has looked out of sorts, while Abhishek Sharma has played some rash strokes. The flat wicket at SuperSport Park, though, might help him get some runs.
India’s spinners have been fantastic, led by Varun Chakaravarthy, who has been almost unplayable. Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel have kept things tight. Arshdeep Singh was wayward in the previous game while Avesh Khan looked listless again. We reckon Avesh is likely to be replaced by Yash Dayal or Vijaykumar Vyshak in the third match.
Key Players: Suryakumar Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, Hardik Pandy
Having scored 20 and 33 runs in the series thus far, the left-hander has been India's most consistent performer at number four. Backed by his recent form, we believe the southpaw will deliver another impactful innings in the third T20I.

SuperSport Park in Centurion is known for its bouncy pitches, where the ball often comes on quickly. This lively surface historically gives a real advantage to fast bowlers. But the last couple of T20Is at that venue have been high-scoring affairs, with batsmen comfortably hitting the ball. While early overs might favor the seamers, the pitch usually allows batsmen to get settled in later.
The weather in Centurion will be pleasant and cool during the game. There is very little possibility of rain so we should get a full game.
The average first innings score at Centurion’s SuperSport Park is 180. The highest total achieved at the venue is South Africa’s 259-4 last year while chasing against the West Indies. The team batting first in this game will be looking to set a target of around 200-220 runs.
Super Sport Park is known for its batting-friendly surface and high-scoring matches. With both teams in excellent form and the series tied at 1-1, we expect another high-scoring encounter. The short square boundaries will likely come into play, leading us to predict over 18.5 sixes in the match.
Centurion's pitch is renowned for its batting-friendly conditions, often resulting in high-scoring matches. The average first-innings score at this venue is around 185-190 runs, and the average total match score in the last two T20Is was 380 runs. Given these factors, we anticipate another high-scoring encounter with a total match score exceeding 368.5 runs.
Last year, both men’s T20Is played at SuperSport Park were won by the team chasing. We reckon this will prompt both captains to field first in this game.
South Africa has a mixed record in Centurion, winning 6 out of 14 T20I matches and losing 8. This suggests they don't have a clear upper hand at this venue. Their batting strength, particularly from Tristan Stubbs, Heinrich Klaasen, and David Miller, can make them formidable if these players get going. India, on the other hand, have a powerful batting lineup, and their spinners have been outstanding. However, their fast bowlers might face challenges in critical situations. Still, India has been performing exceptionally well in T20Is this year, with only two losses. We expect India to bounce back and clinch the third T20I.
We are backing Team India as the winners of the third T20I.
