RSA vs NZ Live Prediction

2025-07-16 18:34:24

South Africa Score Under 83.5 in 10 Overs @ 1.82 (4RABET)

South Africa has started strongly, reaching 30 runs in the first three overs, but they've lost Lhuan-dre Pretorius's wicket. With a new batsman at the crease, it's often tough to score quickly right away. New Zealand will aim to use this to their advantage and put pressure on South Africa's batsmen. We expect South Africa to have a slow scoring period between overs 6 and 10, and we predict their total score will be under 84 runs at the halfway mark of their chase.

2025-07-16 17:12:45

New Zealand Score Over 116.5 in 15 Overs @ 1.82 (4RABET)

Gerald Coetzee's tight bowling in the last two overs has put the brakes on New Zealand's scoring. After 8 overs, the Blackcaps are 64 for 3, with a current run rate of 8 runs per over. If they maintain this pace, they're projected to reach 120 runs by the end of 15 overs. With their skilled spin hitters at the crease, we expect New Zealand to keep up their current scoring rate and reach over 116 runs in 15 overs.

2025-07-16 16:43:56

New Zealand 1st 6 Overs Score Over 52.5 @ 1.85 (4RABET)

New Zealand are off to a flying start, scoring 22 runs in the first two overs. Tim Seifert has raced along to 18 runs with a flurry of boundaries. This looks like a much better pitch for batting, where the ball is coming onto the bat nicely. With both batters in good touch, we expect a high-scoring powerplay and predict New Zealand's score to be over 52 runs at the end of 6 overs.

South Africa will face New Zealand in the second game of the T20I tri-series hosted in Zimbabwe. It's been three years since the last Tri-series was played. The game will be played at Harare Sports Club, Harare, on 16th July from 4:30 pm onwards. South Africa began the series with a five-wicket win over Zimbabwe, while New Zealand will play this T20I after a four-month gap.

In the first game, South Africa bowled first to restrict Zimbabwe to 141. George Linde took three wickets for 10 runs in his three overs. The chase became difficult for South Africa as they lost the first three wickets for 38. Debutant Rubin Hermann (45) put up a partnership of 72 runs with Dewald Brewis, who scored 41 runs off just 17 deliveries. South Africa won the game by 5 wickets in the 16th over of the game.

New Zealand played their last T20I in March against Pakistan. Bowling first, they bowled out Pakistan for 128. James Neesham picked up five wickets for 22 runs. Tim Seifert then scored an unbeaten knock of 97 runs in 38 deliveries. New Zealand won the game by 8 wickets. Devon Conway has returned to the squad to replace Finn Allen, who suffered a foot injury at MLC 2025. Hay, Neesham, and Robinson have been added as a cover for Bracewell, Chapman, Phillips, and Ravindra, who are all involved in the MLC final.

It's been eight years since both teams have played against each other. South Africa won that game by 78 runs to make four wins in the last five T20Is against New Zealand.

South Africa Preview

South Africa is high on confidence after winning the test series earlier and the first game of the series comfortably. But the real test lies ahead as they will be facing New Zealand. Lhuan-dre Pretorius will open the innings with Reeza Hendricks. Pretorius got out on a duck on his debut. But the opener had scored 110 runs in 4 games at a strike rate of 141 in Vitality Blast 2025. Hendericks has experience of over 78 T20Is in which he has scored 2282 runs at a strike rate of 132. Skipper Rassie van der Dussen will come in at number three. Dussen scored 16 off 13 in the first game. The superstar of ODIs has a strike rate of 130 in T20Is.

Rubin Hermann will come in the middle with Dewald Brewis and Corbin Bosch. Hermann scored an unbeaten 45 off 37 deliveries in the first game. He had an amazing SA T20 where he scored 343 runs in 9 games at an average of 41 and a strike rate of 129. Dewald Brewis will be the player to watch out for. Brewis scored 41 off 17 balls in the first game. Brewis played in Vitality Blast and IPL before coming to the squad, where he scored at a strike rate of 180 in 14 games. Bosch scored 23 off 15 in the first game. He had taken 11 wickets with the ball in the SA T20 this season in 8 games.

George Linde will lead the bowling attack with Lungi Ndidi, Nandre Burger, and Nqabayomzi Peter. Linde took three wickets for 10 in the first game. He now has 8 wickets in the last three T20Is at an economy of 5.6. He will be the bowler to watch out for. Ndidi has 64 wickets in 44 T20Is at an economy of 9. Burger has played just 3 T20Is so far, in which he has picked up two wickets.

Key Players: Dewald Brewis, George Linde, Rubin Hermann.

SA Over/Under Betting Tips

Rubin Hermann Total Runs Over 19.5 1.83

Bet now

The classy, elegant left-hander scored 45 runs off 37 balls in his debut match, smashing five fours and one six. He looked to be middling and timing the ball really well. He is also one of those players who flourishes on good, hard, bouncy tracks, and we back him to continue his good run of form and score over 19 runs against the Blackcaps.

South Africa Predicted Playing XI:

Reeza Hendricks, Lhuan-dre Pretorius (wk), Rassie van der Dussen (c), Dewald Brevis, Rubin Hermann, George Linde, Corbin Bosch, Andile Simelane, Nqabayomzi Peter, Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi.

Weather Conditions

The weather at Derby is expected to be cloudy on match day, with temperatures ranging between 9 and 22 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow from the southeast at 10-16 km/h. The rain is not expected. It is a bowling-friendly pitch. It is a paradise for both batters and bowlers as it offers balance in all innings. The wind will help the pacers swing the ball.

Total Over/Under Betting Tips

South Africa to win the coin toss 1.95

Bet now

We predict South Africa will win the coin toss in the 2nd T20I match against New Zealand in the Zimbabwe T20I Tri Series 2025.

Total Match Score Under 332.5 1.72

Bet now

The average total match score in the last three T20I matches played at Harare Sports Club is 272 runs. The pitch favours the bowlers a bit and due to the large boundary dimensions boundaries are hard to come by. Both teams boast a solid bowling lineup and we predict it to be a low scoring thriller and the total match score to be under 333 runs.

Toss: To Bat

In 61 T20 games hosted here, results have favored the teams defending the target on 34 occasions. The average first innings score is 151. The teams have won twice in three games this season while defending the target. The team winning the toss should bat first.

It will be a difficult task for South Africa, which will be playing other than Zimbabwe for the first time. New Zealand has been out of touch with the shortest format in the last four months, but all of their players have shown their form in different T20 leagues across the world. They have a better lineup than SA on both the batting and bowling front. On the other hand, SA’s batting lineup is somehow dependent on the explosive batting of Dewald Brewis.

We predict that New Zealand will defeat South Africa.
