Indian team is touted as one of the favorites to win the 2019 World Cup and they have been playing an impressive brand of cricket for the last 2-3 years. Skipper Virat Kohli will look to start the campaign with a win against the South African team. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan need to get some runs and make an impact straightway in the tournament. MS Dhoni and KL Rahul are in good form and scored their respective centuries in the practice match against Bangladesh.

Kedhar Jadhav`s place in the starting XI is subjected to his fitness and availability. Big Hitting Hardik Pandya will be the No.1 all-rounder of the Indian team. The wrist spinning duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav may pip Ravindra Jadeja as the spinners in the playing XI. Mohammed Shami will partner Jasprit Bumrah as the pace bowling attack of the Indian team. India has one of the excellent team with equally potent bowling and batting attacks. 

South Africa is having their worst start to their World Cup campaign and they have lost two matches so far against Bangladesh and England. Their batsmen have been put under pressure chasing scores in excess of 310 in both their matches. Faf Du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, and Rassie Van Dussen have scored 50+ scores but failed to make a big impact in the chases. David Miller, Aiden Markram and JP Duminy have got starts but did not capitalize on it.

Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn are expected to return to the team after injury lay-offs in this match. Kagiso Rabada was not at his impressive best in the two matches he played so far. Lungi Ngidi is sidelined at least for a week after his injury in the last match. Andile Phehlukwayo will take the all-rounder`s slot in the team.  Imran Tahir is their impact bowler and he will have a big role in this match.
