After winning the toss in the first T20I, Rovman Powell asked opponents to bat first, and the team’s bowling unit justified his decision with a super display of medium pace. Odean Smith’s spell of 2 wickets for 27 runs and Sheldon Cottrell’s spell of 2 wickets for 31 runs helped them to restrict opponents to 131 runs. 

Windies’ openers Kyle Mayers and Brandon King gave a fiery start to the chase but failed to convert that partnership into a match-winning one.
