Southern Brave to win
Tournament: The Hundred Men | Format: 100-BALL CRICKET | Venue: The Rose Bowl, Southampton, England | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowWe are into the last few league games of The Hundred, 2021 and this one between hosts Southern Brave and Northern Superchargers would have lot riding on it for both the sides. A win here would take either of them close to a berth in the Eliminator round. Southern Brave saw their last game against Manchester Originals being washed away while the Superchargers come here with a big win against London Spirit.
The Southern Brave have their bowling attack in good form and their batsmen have also done well. The side would be playing at home where they had won the previous game comfortably and shall carry this confidence. Superchargers too are in good form with the bat, and this would make this contest exciting where nerves would be tested in both the camps.
James Vince’s side saw its last game against the Manchester Originals being washed away by rains. At the close of play the side was doing well with the ball. The side is currently sitting at the 6th place on the points table and shall be aiming to win this one at home and move up to keep their hopes alive for a berth in the Eliminator game.
Their opening pair of James Vince and Quinton de Kock have lots of experience and the side shall like to see a good show from them in this game. The middle order has looked good, and they would expect runs here from Alex Davies and Paul Stirling in this game. The side has good hitters of the ball to follow in Colin de Grandhomme, Ross Whitely and George Garton and runs would be expected from them in the game.
The side would like to see a good start with the new ball from Laim Dawson and George Garton as their opponents do have a strong batting line-up. Tymal Mills has bowled consistent lines and he would have to check the flow of runs in the game. The side would also like to see good spells from Jake Lintott and Chris Jordan as they haven’t looked at their best so far.

David Willey’s side comes here with back-to-back wins, and this has revived the confidence in the camp. It was a convincing win for the side against the London Spirit where they won by 63 runs. The side would like to take this momentum forward and win this game to get one step closer to a berth in the next round.
Chris Lynn has looked in good form, but the side would be worried about the form of his opening partner Adam Lyth who hasn’t scored runs. Willey played a captain’s knock in the last game and the side would also expect runs from Harry Brook and Dane Vilas who look in good form. Ben Raine, Brydon Carse and John Simpson add strength to the bowling down the order.
David Willey and Matty Potts bowled superbly in the last game and the same would be expected from them here. In Adil Rashid and Mujeeb ur Rahman they have two skilled spinners and tight spells would be needed from them in this game. With Ben Raine and Carse in the side their attack has good depth.

The skies over Southampton would see clouds and there are chances of rain on August 07. Batting conditions are likely to be challenging during the game and batsmen must approach the innings with caution. The side that bats first in this game would be happy to put up 150 or more on the board.
The Rose Bowl, Southampton has a good surface where the ball comes onto the bat nicely and we have seen lots of runs being scored here in the past. There is pace and bounce on offer for the fast bowlers and they have done well here in the past. It is a tough venue for the spinners as there isn’t much turn on offer in this surface
The wicket at Southampton has produced runs in the past where batsmen have been able to play their strokes. This can be a very difficult venue to set score as the pitch doesn’t change character in the second innings. The side that wins the toss here should have no hesitation in bowling first.
Both the sides have had similar trajectories in the tournament so far and hence there would be pressure on both the camps. Northern Superchargers come here with a big win and their batting is looking good right now. Southern Brave have also done well in the last few games, and they would have home advantage going into this contest. This would put them nose ahead of the Superchargers.
