Southern Brave faced Welsh Fires twice in the last season and ended up winning 1 game in the 2 meets. After losing their first game by 18 runs, they made a strong comeback to win the 2nd game by 8 wickets. They restricted Welsh Fires to 144 runs in 100 balls with the help of Jake Lintott and Danny Briggs’ 2 wickets each.

While chasing the target of 145 runs, Quinton de Kock (57 runs from 32 balls) and James Vince (53 runs from 39 balls), played superb knocks to secure an 8-wicket win over opponents. After a successful campaign in the last year, captain James Vince now has more responsibility to defend the title. He also won Vitality Blast 2022 as a captain.
