It is the big battle in the 21st game of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2021 as the top two sides battle out for supremacy in the tournament. Southern Brave Women sit at the top of the points table and suffered their first loss of the season against Manchester Originals Women in their last game. The Northern Superchargers Women also lost to the London Spirit Women in the last game.
It will be a keen battle as the two sides have looked the best so far in the tournament. A win here would guarantee a spot in the eliminator round for either of the two teams and that’s what they would be aiming for. The Superchargers Women would have to work on their batting as this has been the weakness for the side in the last few games.
It was a bad day at the office as Anya Shrubsole’s side as they suffered a 17-run loss under the DLS method against the Manchester Originals Women. The side bowled poorly in what were good bowling conditions in the game. Shrubsole would like her side to put behind this loss and aim at a good show that can book a berth for them in the next round.
Danielle Wyatt and Smriti Mandhana are in good form at the top and the side would like to see another energetic start from them. In the middle order Stafanie Taylor and Sophia Dunkley have looked good, and the side would look for runs from them. Down the order the likes of Maia Boucher, Amanda Wellington and Anya Shrubsole add good strength to their batting.
Anya Shrubsole and Amanda Wellington have been excellent with the ball so far in the tournament and good show would be expected from them. Rest of the bowling attack had a poor outing in the last game and the likes of Lauren Bell, Charlotte Taylor and Fi Morris would have to bowl tighter spells as Superchargers have powerful hitters in the side.

Lauren Winfield Hill’s side suffered a huge loss in the last game against the London Spirit. This would have hurt the side as their opponents had looked in poor form previously. Hill would be aware of the scale of challenge in the next game as they take on a tough opponent and she would like to see better performances from her players here.
Jemimah Rodrigues and Hill are in good form and the side would like to see a good show from them at the top on this game. The middle order has good players in Laura Wolvaardt and Alice Richards, and they would be tasked to adding quick runs here. Down the order the likes of Bess Heath and Laura Kimmince must push up the scoring with big hits.
Kalea Moore and Elizabeth Russell were expensive with the new ball in the last game, and they would need to improve here. Lindsey Smith has been consistent with her bowling and the side would like to see a similar show from her here. The onus of stopping the Southern Brave Women from making a big score would be on Alice Davidson Richards, Katie Levick and Phoebe Graham.

We would see overcast skies over Southampton with chances of rain on August 07. Batting conditions would be slightly difficult compared to the earlier game of the season as bowlers would find assistance from the surface. The side that bats first in this game would look for a score above 140 runs.
The Rose Bowl, Southampton has a flat and fast surface the ball comes onto the bat nicely and this allows batters to play on the up. There is pace and bounce on this track, and this is something fast bowlers have always enjoyed. Spinners must use their variations since the wicket doesn’t have much for them.
We have already seen a big scoring game at Southampton and the wicket has been flat allowing batters to play their strokes easily. Setting up a total on this venue isn’t an easy task and the side that wins the toss here is likely to opt for bowling first on this surface.
Northern Superchargers have looked the second-best side in the tournament and have a very formidable batting line-up. Their bowlers have struggled in few games, and they will need to correct this here to win the game. Southern Brave Women are playing at home and apart from the loss in the last game have looked unstoppable and this would make them favorites to win this game.
