Scotland were mighty impressive in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup Qualifiers but fell short.  Despite that, they will come in these Regional Qualifiers with their spirits high and also as favourites which might put pressure on them. However, they have not been in good form in the T20i and will look to improve their form.

After winning the toss, Scotland decided to bat and got off to a really bad start. Losing 2 quick wickets made sure that they will not be able to put on a big score. Ending up with a total of 132 losing 6 wickets, was something that they would be extremely disappointed with. George Munsey was the top scorer with 54 off 51 balls.

The bowling department had a really small target to defend, and could not do much to help their cause. Zimbabwe chased down the target in 18.3 overs and 5 wickets to spare. Josh Davey was the best bowler, picking up 2 for 16 in his 3 overs.

Germany can be touted as the dark horse of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers. They have been unbeaten in the last 5 games and will be extremely confident of challenging Scotland. Last played against Austria they were extremely dominant and will hope more of the same.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Germany had a really good start with the ball. The bowling department looked sharp and restricted the Austrian batting lineup to a mere 121 runs, picking up 8 wickets. Ghulam Ahmadi was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 2 wickets for 19 runs.

The batting department made easy work of the small target and chased it down quite comfortably with 8 wickets to spare. Joshua van Heerden was the top scorer with 53 off 43 balls. This was an exceptional and dominant display by the Germans and will want to replicate this form in the qualifiers as well.
