We are into the 7th game of the Dwaine Pretorius. Defending champions St Kitts and Nevis Patriots would be taking on the Guyana Amazon Warriors. It will be an important game for both sides. The Patriots had to share points in the last game against the Trinbago Knight Riders as no play was possible due to rain. The Warriors suffered a loss against the Jamaica Tallawahs in a close contest.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots would be under pressure as the side hasn’t been able to register a win in the three games they have played. A loss in this game would put the side under tremendous pressure. The Warriors have a strong batting line-up, and they would look to fight it out and earn their first points for the season. This promises to make this game interesting.
Dwayne Bravo’s side would feel the pressure with their last game against the Trinbago Knight Riders being washed away by rain. The side has lost the previous two games and they would need to win this one. The side had won all three games against the Warriors last season, and they would take confidence from those wins.
Andre Fletcher has looked in good form and he would look to set up a good opening wicket stand with Evin Lewis. The side would need partnerships in the middle order from Darren Bravo, Dewald Brevis, and Sherfane Rutherford which has been one of the problem areas for the team. Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, and Duan Jansen must play quickfire knocks down the order for the side to be in a comfortable position.
Their bowlers have failed to display good form and the side would need a strong start from Sheldon Cottrell and Jansen in this game. Jeremiah Louis comes into the side, and he would need to bowl tight spells in the middle overs with Akila Dananjaya. Bravo is an experienced bowler, and he must do well in the supporting role with Dwaine Pretorius.

Shimron Hetmyer would be upset with the 4-wicket loss against the Jamaica Tallwahs in their first game of the season. They had done well in defending the small total, but a poor 18th over spoilt the script for the team. Hetmyer would like to put this loss behind and exploit the lack of form we have seen from the Patriots.
Paul Stirling and Chandrapaul Hemraj didn’t trouble the scorers much in the last game and they must set up a good partnership at the top. Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope played well in the middle order and they would like to build partnerships with Romario Shepherd. Odean Smith and Heinrich Klaasen shall have to do the big hitting down the order.
Gudakesh Motie bowled a dream spell in the last game, and he will need to strike early sharing the new ball with Shephard who had a poor day at the office. Imran Tahir used his experience well and he must slow down the scoring rate in the middle overs with Odean Smith. Tabraiz Shamsi adds to the side’s bowling strength.

It is expected to be slightly overcast skies over St Kitts on September 5. The track has been a good one to bat on, but it has slowed down with lots of games being played. Batsmen are likely to do well with little on the surface for the fast bowlers. The side batting first shall need 170 runs on the board to feel safe on this wicket.
Warner Park, St Kitts is a batsman’s paradise. The flat surface and the fast outfield allow batsmen to play their strokes freely. There isn’t much there on this surface for the fast bowlers and they must rely on their variations. Spinners have done well in the past as the ball stops on the batsmen.
We have seen a mix of big and average scores at this venue. The wicket has some assistance for the bowlers early in the game. It eases out as the game progresses, and we have seen most teams winning chasing the score. The side winning the toss shall have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots need to win this game to stay alive in the tournament. Their batsmen have been in poor form, and this would worry the side. They will need runs from the top order to win the game. Guyana Amazon Warriors have a strong batting line-up and two experienced spinners. This would put them ahead of the Patriots in this game.
