St Lucia Kings Preview

Faf du Plessis’ side hasn’t performed to its best levels so far in the tournament. They have won only once in the three games they have played and come here after a poor show against the Trinbago Knight Riders where they lost by 27 runs. Their batsmen are struggling, and the side would look for a better show from them in this important game. 

Andre Fletcher played brilliantly in the last game but there was no support for him at the other end. He will have to set up a good partnership with Rahkeem Cornwall. Faf du Plessis is short on form and must do well with Roston Chase and Mark Deyal in the middle order. Runs would also be expected from the bat of Samit Patel and Tim David down the order who have good abilities with the bat. 

Alzarri Joseph did well in the last game and the side would like to see early strikes from him and Wahab Riaz in this game. Roston Chase also comes here after a good show and shall aim to bowl tight spells with Kesrick Williams who picked 4 wickets in the previous game. Keemo Paul, Deyal and Samit Patel add good depth to this attack.

After two consecutive defeats Nicholas Pooran’s side made a strong comeback in the last game against the Trinbago Knight Riders. It was the most exciting game of the tournament so far which the Warriors won in the Super Over. This win against the defending champions would add to their confidence and Pooran would look for a win here and move up on the points table. 

They would need a good start at the top from Mohammad Hafeez and Chandrapaul Hemraj as both these players haven’t looked at their best so far. In the middle order Shimron Hetmyer is looking good and quick runs would be expected from his bat along with Odean Smith and Shoaib Malik. Pooran and Brandon King down the order add good firepower to the batting. 

Naveen-ul-Haq has been in poor form and the side would need him to deliver the goods here with Romario Shephard who won the last game with his excellent bowling. Imran Tahir has looked good, and the side would like to see him continue bowling tight spells. Smith and Ashmead Need would be expected to bowl tight lines here.
