It is the last round of league games at the Tamil Nadu Premier League, 2021 and Madurai Panthers would be counting on their chances as they take on Salem Spartans in this game. The Salem Spartans suffered a massive defeat against the Nellai Royal Kings in their last game while the Panthers too went down against the Chepauk Super Gillies in their previous game. 

The Salem Spartans are already out of the contention for a berth in the next round. They have lost the last four games in a row and have won just once this season. Madurai Panthers on the other hand still have their hopes alive and shall aim for a win here that would take them into the playoffs.

It has been a miserable campaign for KH Gopinath’s side who stepped in as skipper in the last game. They are out of contention for a place in the next round after their 8-wicket loss against the Nellai Royal Kings. They have just one win to celebrate in the tournament. As the side plays its last game, they would look to end it on a winning note. 

Akshay Srinivasan and Gopinath will have to provide the side with a good start as poor starts at the top gas hurt the side. Vijay Shankar hit form too late, and he would look forward to doing well in the middle order with S Abhishek and Murugan Ashwin. M Ganesh Moorthi and B Praanesh would be expected to do the big hitting towards the end. 

Their bowling attack has looked toothless in most games and the side would like to see a good show here from M Ganesh Moorthi and G Periyaswamy with the new ball. Ashwin and Shankar did well un the last game they need to make their experience count. S Boopalan needs to bowl tight lines here for the side to do well.

It was a 5-wicket loss for the side in their last game against the Chepauk Super Gilles. As they play their last game. Chaturved would look for a win against the struggling Salem Spartans which will assure them of a place in the next round. 

Sugenthiran and P Praveen Kumar went out cheaply in the last game and the side would look for runs from them here at the top. Chaturved is in good form and needs to hold the middle order along with B Anirudh Sita Ram and Arun Karthik in this game. Jagatheesan Kousik and Kiran Akash would look to push up the scoring as they have done well in the tournament. 

Kiran Akash and Kiran Akash leaked runs in the last game and the side would like to see better efforts with the new ball from them. In Jagatheesan Kousik and Aushik Srinivas they have two bowlers in good form and this would add to their strength as Spartans look in poor form with the bat.
