It is the high-pressure second semi-final of the Mumbai Premier League 2019 and the table toppers SoBo SuperSonics will be up against Aakash Tigers MWS at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Going into this game the SoBo SuperSonics will be very confident after their performance in the league stage of the season where they finished at the top. Aakash Tigers, on the other hand, managed to earn their spot winning the last game against Shivaji Park Lions.

It will be a high voltage contest where both sides would be under pressure. SuperSonics have done well as a unit with performances coming from all quarters where in the case of Aakash Tigers it has been few individuals who have done well. It will be interesting to see if the Tigers are able to win this game or SuperSonics retain the momentum.

Gokul Bista will be very proud of the efforts of his side so far. They lacked star power at the start of the season but have made it up with great team effort. Their big win over Shivaji Park Lions in the last game would have given them great confidence going into the semi-final. They had defeated Aakash Tigers MWS and will start on a higher pedestal in this game. 

Gokul Bista played well in the last game and so did Yogesh Takawale. Parag Khanapurkar has been consistent in the season so far. Hersh Tank has also done well and with Rohan Raje and Dhrumil Matkar in the lower order they have seen important contributions coming in from all players and this makes their bowling attack strong going into this game. 

Their bowlers haven’t done that well in the season apart from Parag Khanapurkar who has been the leading wicket-taker for the season. Dhrumil Matkar and Rohan Raje bowled well in the last game and the side would be hoping to see better performances from them in the next game to win it.

Dhawal Kulkarni would have been very happy with the performance of his team in the last game against Shivaji Park Lions and as this helped them earn a place in the semi-finals. But the skipper would know that the SuperSonics is a better team and his boys would have to put up their best performance to win this one.

Arjun Tendulkar and Bhavin Thakkar form a good opening pair and the latter played a great knock in the last game. Shams Mulani also did well with the bat and the batting looks good for the side with Siddharth Akre Yogesh Pawar and Suryansh Shedge in the side and they will look forward to exploiting their opponent’s weaker bowling line-up.

Dhawal Kulkarni is not finding his form with the ball which is causing trouble for the side. Shams Mulani, Nehal Katakdhond, and Arjun Tendulkar bowled well in the last game and would look to repeat their performance. The side would also expect better performance from Salman Khan who had a bad day in the last game.

Weather Conditions

It is expected to be warm and humid at Mumbai on May 25 which will make it perfect for an evening game. The pitch is expected to be a good one to bat on as we have seen in the earlier games and the side batting first will be eyeing a score in excess of 180 runs.

VENUE

Wankhede Stadium Mumbai has witnessed several high scoring encounters this season and has always been one of the best batting wickets in the country. There is a small margin of error for the bowlers who have to be on the money to do well on this surface.
