Ben Green’s side needs to get its acts together. They have lost both their games and come here with a 5-wicket loss against Gloucestershire. Somerset needs a victory here to open their chances of making it to the quarterfinals. The side has struggled both with the bat and the ball. They play at home in this game and Green would like his side to take advantage of the conditions and defeat Durham as their opponents have also played poorly.  

Matthew Renshaw and Steven Davies need to set up a good opening wicket stand after failing to convert their starts. Lewis Goldsworthy played a good knock in the last game, and he will need to set up partnerships with James Hildreth and George Bartlett in the middle order. Ben Green is a good finisher, and he has to add suns with James Rew down the order.  

Kasey Aldridge and Jack Brooks bowled well in the last game, and they will look to trouble Durham’s struggling batting line-up. Peter Siddle brings vast experience, and he needs to deliver the goods by teaming up with Green in the middle overs. They have depth in the attack and the likes of Max Waller, Goldsworthy, and Renshaw shall look to keep a check on the scoring rate.

Scott Borthwick’s side would face the heat as they play this game. They have lost both their games by big margins and come here with a 9-wicket loss against Middlesex. The side has been poor both with the bat and the ball. Bowling has been a disaster so far and Borthwick would look for a turnaround as they play on one of the best batting surfaces in England in this game.  

Graham Clark has failed in both games, and he must hit form and set up a big partnership with Alex Lees at the top. Michael Jones hit a hundred in the last game, but the rest of the middle order failed. Nic Maddinson and Borthwick must do well in the middle order for the side to post a big total on the board. They would also need runs from Liam Trevaskis, Luke Doneathy, and Thomas Mackintosh toward the end of the innings.  

The side has picked just two wickets in two games and the bowling attack must pull its socks up and deliver. Luke Doneathy and Oliver Gibson need to strike early to put Somerset under pressure. Liam Trevaskis and Borthwick are experienced bowlers, and the side would need a strong performance from them in this game. Doneathy, Stanley McAlindon, and Doneathy shall need to come up with good spells in the middle overs.

Taunton would see clear skies on August 10. The surface is flat but there would be an initial movement for the fast bowlers. The ball comes onto the bat nicely allowing easy stroke play. The side batting first in this game would be aiming for a score of over 300 runs on this surface.

The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton is a small ground and hence batsmen have plenty of opportunities to hit the ball. Fast bowlers do get assistance from the surface but need to maintain a good line to stop the batsmen from scoring Spinners have struggled here due to the shorter boundaries all around.
