Somerset had a grand start to the season with 4 consecutive wins and then they lost their way with three back to back losses. They needed just a win out of their 4 last games to seal qualification to knockouts. But now, after three losses they are in a do-or-die match. Their batsmen have failed to score even a single 50+ score in the last two matches.  They have been bowled out for scores less than 250 runs thrice in a row and ended up losing all the three matches. Azhar Ali, Peter Trego, and Jack Hildreth were brilliant with the bat in first four matches but are struggli9ng to put a substantial score now. Their bowling was left with too little target to play within the last match. Craig Overturn showed some grit and determination with the ball and picked up two wickets but he had no support from the other end. Somerset had one of worst turn-around this season with three losses after four wins and it would be a shame if they fail to qualify for the knockouts.

Their batting is not up to the mark and has been bowled out in four consecutive matches and losing each one of them. They were bundled out for just 127 runs the last match. Dean Elgar put a lone battle and scored an unbeaten 62 runs to take his team total to the three-figure mark. Eight batsmen were dismissed for a single digit score and second high score was just 14 runs. Morn Morkel is their best bowler this season with 13 wickets and has an impressive economy of just 4.5 RPO. They were weakened by the loss of England players such as Ben Foakes, Jason Roy, Liam Plunkett and Tom Curran who left for their national duties. They don`t have anything to lose here and can come and play without any pressure on their back.
