Southern Brave would look to make a strong comeback as they return home to take on London Spirit in the 10th game of The Hundred, 2022. Southern Brave come into this contest with their chips down having lost by a big margin against Birmingham Phoenix in the last game. London Spirit has done well, and they defeated the Manchester Originals in their last game.
Southern Brave has enjoyed a great run in this competition since last year. Their loss against the Phoenix was their first loss in nine games. They have never lost a game at their home ground, and this would add to the side’s confidence. With the London Spirit looking in good form we expect to see a tight contest in this game.
It has been two extreme performances from James Vince’s side. They started the season with a massive win against Welsh Fire but lost the last game against the Birmingham Phoenix by a big margin. It was poor bowling from the side as they allowed the Phoenix to put up a big score. Vince would like to see better bowling efforts here as they search for their second win of the tournament.
James Vince is in good form, and he shall look to set up a big opening wicket stand with Quinton de Kock in this game. Alex Davies has scored runs this season and he strengthens the middle order which has big hitters in Marcus Stoinis and Tim David. The side bats deep and they would expect runs from the likes of Ross Whiteley, James Fuller, and George Garton in this game.
The side would need a better show from the bowling attack as most bowlers failed to get their lines right in the last game. Stoinis bowled well but he would need support from Garton with the new ball. Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan must bowl in the right areas to put pressure on London Sprit in this game. Fuller and Jake Lintott must also come up with tight spells in this game.

Eoin Morgan’s side has made a promising start to the tournament. The side has won both its games and sits on the top of the points table. They came up with a clinical performance in the last game against the Manchester Originals winning the game by 52 runs. Morgan would like to go with this momentum and strengthen their position on the points table.
Zak Crawley has batted well in both games, and he would look to set up a good opening wicket stand with Adam Rossington. They have the strongest middle order with Glenn Maxwell, Eoin Morgan, and Kieron Pollard in the team. The trio shall look to add quick runs. Ravi Bopara, Liam Dawson, and Jordan Thompson add firepower to their batting.
Their bowlers come here with their confidence high. Chris Wood and Jordan Thompson bowled great spells in the last game. The side would like similar efforts from them in this game. Dawson is an experienced bowler, and he would look to trouble Southern Brave. Mason Crane and Nathan Ellis add to the side’s strength with the ball.

The skies over Southampton would be clear on August 12. The wicket here is difficult to bat on as we have already seen in the series. The ball is expected to stop on the batsmen making it difficult to play strokes. The side batting first in this game would be happy to reach a target of 150 runs.
The Rose Bowl, Southampton is a good surface to bowl on for the fast bowlers. They find assistance from the surface. Batsmen need to adjust themselves to the pace on the surface before they start playing their strokes. Spinners haven’t had the best of success here as the wicket doesn’t offer much turn.
Five games have been played at this ground since the last season and all five games have gone to the sides chasing the score. The wicket has always been tricky, and we have seen mediocre sores at this venue. The side winning the toss shall have no hesitation in opting to bowl first in this game.
London Spirit has played exceedingly well in both their games. But this would be a challenge on a different scale. Their bowling attack is slightly inexperienced, and they would be under pressure in this game. The Southern Brave have never lost a game at this venue. They have big names on their side both with the bat as well as with the ball. This would make them favorites to win this game.
