Kolkata Knight Riders to win
Tournament: Indian Premier League 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, India | Toss: To Bat
Bet NowIt is the 3rd game of the Indian Premier League 2021 and the Sunrisers Hyderabad would take on the Kolkata Knight Riders. The last few seasons haven’t gone in the favor of the two sides as they would have liked. Hence, a good start would be important for both the camps. Many of the players are coming here after a long break and it would be interesting to see their match readiness.
Kolkata Knight Riders have enjoyed good success against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two seasons where they have won three out of the four games. They have a very strong batting line-up. Sunrisers Hyderabad too has good strength in their camp and there is not much difference man to man between the two teams and this is likely to make this game very interesting.
David Warner would be looking for a perfect start to the tournament. The side had done well to reach the qualifier last year despite the series of injuries they suffered during the tournament. They have good firepower at the top of their batting line-up and an impressive bowling attack and shall look to do better than what they did last season losing both their games against the Knight Riders.
The side would be looking for a good start from Warner and Jonny Bairstow as both these batsmen have good hitting abilities. In the middle order they would be expecting runs from Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey. In Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar and Rashid Khan they have good hitters of the ball down the order and shall expect runs from them which wasn’t the case in the last season.
Sandeep Sharma had done well last season and shall look for early breakthroughs in the game alongside the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Khaleel Ahmed has been growing with confidence and shall look to keep the flow of runs under check along with T Natrajan. The presence of Rashid Khan adds great strength to this bowling attack which also has Shankar to support them.

Eoin Morgan would like to put behind the failure of the last season as he leads the franchise as the full-time skipper for the very first time. The side has good strength it the batting departments and shall look to make good use of it. They have a good record against the Sunrisers in the recent years and Morgan would like his team to draw inspiration from those wins.
The side would be looking for a strong start from Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi in this game. They would be up against a quality attack and need to do well here. The middle order is strong with Morgan, Shakib Al Hasan, Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik in the side. They would be expecting big hits down the order from Andre Russell and Pat Cummins as both these players can hit the ball hard.
Cummins will have a very important role to play in this game and shall have to cause early damage along with Prasidh Krishna. Varun Chakravarthy had impressed last season and shall look to start from where he had left. Shakib Al Hasan brings in lot of experience to this bowling attack and shall look to contain the flow of runs along with Russell and Kuldeep Yadav.

The skies over Chennai would be clear with odd clouds on April 11. It would be a warm and humid evening and the pitch here is expected to be on the slower side. Batsmen would have to focus on accumulating runs here. The side batting first in this game would be happy to put up 170 or more on the board which would be difficult to chase here.
MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai is one of the best venues for T20 cricket in India as there is assistance for the bowlers here and batsmen who are looking to play to the merit of the ball have done well. The track is slower as compared to some of the other venues and spinners enjoy good success at this venue.
The wicket at Chennai is known to get slower as the game progresses and this can make run chases difficult. Though most teams have preferred to bowl first upon winning the toss in the recent years given the pitch conditions we expect the side winning the toss here to bat first.
It is the first game of the season for both the sides and hence we expect some nerves in both the camps. Given their performances in the last few seasons both the teams would expect to make a good start here. Sunrisers Hyderabad has good strength at the top and also with the ball but their lower middle order looks fragile. KKR have a very strong batting line-up and their impressive record against Sunrisers in recent years would put them nose ahead in this game.
