They have roped in several new players for this edition and shall look to do well. It will be a tough battle against Rajasthan, and Kumar would like to get the best out of his players.  

Mayank Agarwal comes into the team, and he will look to offer a solid start with Abhishek Sharma. In the middle order, the side will need runs from Rahul Tripathi, Harry Brook, and Anmolpreet Singh, who must build partnerships, as this was a problem for the side last season. Glenn Phillips is an excellent finisher who would look to add quick runs with Kumar and Washington Sundar.  

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Fazalhaq Farooqi must strike early in the game as Rajasthan has a very strong batting line-up. Umran Malik has to make use of his pace and bowl in the right areas in the middle overs with Adil Rashid and Mayank Markande. The side will also expect tight spells in the game from Sundar and Abhishek Sharma in the supporting role.

Rajasthan Royals Preview

Sanju Samson’s side did well last year, but they had a poor out with the bat in the final, losing to the Gujarat Titans. The team got its combination right with great depth in their batting and bowling. They have retained the core team from last season and shall feel confident. Sampson likes leading from the front and would aim for the first points in this game.  

Jos Buttler was in phenomenal form last year, and he makes it a formidable opening pair with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The side is strong in the middle order with Sampson, Devdutt Padikkal, and Shimron Hetmyer, and the trio shall look to do well. Riyan Parag did well last year, and he makes the lower middle order formidable with Ravichandran Ashwin.  

Trent Boult and Kuldeep Sen will aim for early wickets as there is slight uncertainty in the top order for the Sunrisers. Obed McCoy looked good last year, and he will look to start from where he had left. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ashwin are good bowlers for these conditions, and the side will expect them to trouble the batsmen.
