Sunrisers Hyderabad would be taking on the Rajasthan Royals in the 26th game of the IPL 2020. The two sides are coming into this game with contrasting forms. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Kings XI Punjab by a big margin to move up to the third place on the points table while Rajasthan Royals went down against the Delhi Capitals in the last game which has pushed them to the 7th place on the points table increasing problems for the side. 

In the last few seasons Sunrisers Hyderabad has clearly dominated the Rajasthan Royals winning four out of the last five games. Sunrisers also have their openers in good form which will be adding to their confidence. For the Rajasthan Royals it is a mix of poor batting as well as bowling that has led to their downfall. With their backs to the wall the side will have to come up with something special to win this game.

David Warner would confident about his side’s form after their big win against the Kings XI Punjab in the last game. The side batted well and were great with their bowling as they won the game by a huge margin of 69 runs. With this win the side has now moved to the third place on the points table and shall be looking to move further up with a win in this game. They have a good record against the Royals and Warner would like to improve it in this game. 

Their opening combination of Warner and Jonny Bairstow looks in good form and they stitched a 160 run stand in the last game. Abdul Samad and Manish Pandey have scored runs in earlier games and the pair would look to anchor the innings in the middle overs. With Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma to follow the side looks strong with its batting firepower going into this contest. 

Despite the setback with injuries their bowlers did well in the last game. Sandeep Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed were spot on with their line opening the bowling. The side will expect a similar show from them in this game. Rashid Khan has been troubling the batsmen and the side would want him to carry on with the same form. Abhishek Sharma and T Natarajan add great balance to this bowling attack.

Rajasthan Royals Preview

Steven Smith’s side suffered yet another loss in their last game against the Delhi Capitals. Poor bowling and inability to build partnerships led to their 46 run defeat. The side which has made a strong start two wins in two games has lost the last four games in a row and moved to the 7th spot on the points table. They will need to bounce back from here to keep their hopes alive for a place in the playoffs. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler will have to get their side off to a good start. They have failed as a par so far in the tournament. Steven Smith and Sanju Sampson have seen dip in form which has hurt the side and for the side to win the game these two will have to be at their best. Rahul Tewatia has played well but the side would need more contributions from the likes of Mahipal Lamror and Andrew Tye in this game. 

Varun Aaron was expensive in the last game and needs to make good use of the new ball. Jofra Archer has been at his best so far but he will need good support from Andrew Tye in this game. Tye who is a specialist in this format didn’t make an impressive start to his stint this season. Kartik Tyagi and Shreyas Gopal will have to show more consistency with the ball for the side to win this game.

It will be a hot and humid afternoon at Dubai on October 10 at the start of the game. The pitch has been flat so far and there hasn’t been much in there for the bowlers. We have seen the track get slower as the tournament has progressed but it is still a great pitch to bat on. The side that bats first here would need to target a score of around 170 runs here to win the game. 

Venue Details

Dubai International Cricket Stadium has the largest outfield in UAE where hitting the ball over the boundary is a challenge. But the track is a great one to bat on and the quick outfield also aids the batsmen. Fast bowlers struggle here as there is no assistance from the surface.  It has been a happy hunting ground for the spinners who have used the slowness of the track to their advantage.
