Kane Williamson’s side doesn’t seem to have the confidence to win games. In one of the worst performances by the side ever they failed to chase a victory target of 126 runs in the last game against Punjab Kings losing by 5 runs. With one win in nine games, the side has a lot to catch up and Williamson would need to ignite a fire in the side to win this game. 

David Warner will have to deliver as being one of the most important players in the line-up his poor form is hurting and set up a good partnership with Wriddhiman Saha. The middle-order is also looking fragile, and Williamson needs to set up partnerships with Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav. Jason Holder looks in good form must do well alongside Abdul Samad and Rashid Khan down the order. 

Their bowlers did a good job in the last game, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar was expensive. He will have to strike early with Sandeep Sharma. Holder, Khaleel Ahmed, and Rashid Khan bowled well in the last game and similar lines would be expected from them. They would be up against a strong batting unit and must compensate for the poor form of their batsmen.

Sanju Samson would be upset with the performance of his batsmen in the last game against Delhi Capitals where they lost by 33 runs. Apart from Samson himself, no other batsmen in the top order occupied the crease for long leading to their defeat. The skipper would be aware of Sunrisers’ lack of confidence and shall look to exploit it. 

The side would hope to see a steady start here from Liam Livingstone and Yashasvi Jaiswal as they didn’t trouble the scorers much in the last game. Sampson must play a solid innings here after his fighting knock in the last game and build partnerships with David Miller and Mahipal Lamror. In Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag the side has good hitters of the ball down the order. 

Lamror and Mustafizur Rahman are in good form and the side would expect a good show from them in this game. Chetan Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi looked in poor form in the last game and the side would expect tighter spells from them. The presence of Tabraiz Shamsi is a force multiplier in these kinds of conditions.
