Bet NowSri Lanka and Bangladesh women have nothing but pride to look forward to, as they lock horns in the 17th match of ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 at Junction Oval in Melbourne on Monday.
Both the teams have lost three matches in the competition and will be looking to end their campaign on a positive note.
In the previous game, Sri Lanka women were comfortably beaten by Indian women at Junction Oval in Melbourne. Captain Chamari Attapatu will be hoping that the side can produce a collective effort with the bat and ball to earn a consolation win in this final game.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Women produced a spirited bowling performance to nearly pull off an upset against New Zealand Women. Captain Salma Khatun will be confident that the side can put in an improved batting performance against Sri Lanka.
The side might make changes to their final XI for this final game of the competition. Batting has been their main issue in this year’s T20 World Cup.
Besides Chamari Attapatu, no one has been to make notable scores for the side.
For this game, the side will be relying heavily on their captain Chamari Atapattu to make a notable contribution with the bat. In the previous game, Chamari Attapatu once again delivered a decent score for the side. She finished the innings with the top-score of 33 runs off 24 balls with the help of five fours and one six.
Harshitha Madavi scored 12 runs off 17 balls with the help of one four, whereas Shashikala Siriwardene scored 13 runs off 12 balls with the help of two boundaries. Tail-ender Kavisha Dilhari produced a much-needed cameo of 25 not out off 16 balls to help Sri Lanka women post 113 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of Udeshika Prabodhini, Chamari Atapattu, and Shashikala Siriwardene to provide wickets for the side.

After a one-sided game against World Champions Australia, Bangladesh Women produced a much-improved performance against New Zealand women in a game played at Junction Oval on Saturday. Salma Khatun-led unit lost the game by 17 runs.
The big positive from the previous fixture was bowlers producing splendid performances to dismiss New Zealand women for just 91 runs in 18.2 overs. Medium-pacer Ritu Moni was the pick of the bowlers and claimed four wickets to see New Zealand lose the momentum in their innings. She was well supported by Captain Salma Khatun, who bowled well and finished with figures of 3 for 7 in 2.2 overs.
On the other hand, their batting has been a huge disappointment in this T20 World Cup. The openers have failed to produce runs in the initial Powerplay overs. Chasing 92 runs to win, Murshida Khatun and Ritu Moni failed to capitalize on their decent start. Murshida Khatun scored 11 runs off 14 balls with the help of two boundaries, whereas Ritu Moni chipped in with 10 runs off 22 balls.
Wicket-keeper Nigar Sultana was the only player who looked comfortable at the crease against New Zealand. She played well and finished the innings with the top-score of 21 runs off 26 balls with the help of three boundaries. The rest of the batting lineup registered single-digit scores to see Bangladesh get bundled out for just 74 runs and lose their third game on the bounce in the tournament.

The wicket prepared at Junction Oval is expected to offer lateral movement to quick bowlers. In the previous game, spinners also got some help from the pitch. The weather forecast for the game is going to be cloudy skies with a moderate breeze.
Junction Oval in Melbourne is going to host the 17th match of ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 between Bangladesh women and Sri Lanka women. Sri Lanka women have won their last three T20I matches against Bangladesh women.
Due to cloudy skies expected for the game, the side that wins the toss would be keen to have a bowl in order to restrict the opposing team to the lowest possible score. Chasing will be the best option for both the teams in this dead rubber.
Based on performances in this T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka will be favorites to win this game against Bangladesh Women. With Captain Chamari Atapattu, Udeshika Prabodhini in excellent form in this competition, Sri Lanka will be looking to produce their best effort with the bat in this dead rubber.
Expect Sri Lanka to earn a consolation win against Bangladesh!
