A star-studded Surrey starts its campaign as they take on Glamorgan in a South Group game in the Vitality T20 Blast, 2022. Surrey is one of the pre-tournament favorites and has a very strong team and they will look to make it count here. Glamorgan started the season well as they defeated the Sussex Sharks in their last game.
Surrey has enjoyed an excellent record at their home ground. The side is blessed to have several all-rounders who can turn the game on its head, and they would be aiming for the perfect start playing at home. Glamorgan’s recent record against Surrey doesn’t inspire much confidence and the side would have to punch above its weight in this game.
Chris Jordan would be leading Surrey in what is being seen as one of the strongest sides in the season. They had a poor tournament last year where the side failed to reach the knockouts and they would like to put that behind them. They have done well against Glamorgan in the past and this would add to the side confidence. Jordan shall aim for a perfect start to the season here.
Jason Roy and Will Jacks bring good firepower to the batting, and they will aim to offer a perfect start. Hashim Amla is an experienced batsman, and he will need to anchor the middle order with Laurie Evans and Jamie Smith. Sunil Narine, Tom Curran, and Sam Curran are big hitters of the ball, and they make this batting line-up look extremely formidable.
The side would look for early wickets from Jordan and Reece Topley who would look to make the best use of the conditions at this venue. The Curran brothers are known for doing well as a pair and they have an important role in the middle overs of the game. Narine and Overton add to their bowling depth, and this would add to the side’s confidence.

David Lloyd would be happy with the way his side has started the season after they had finished at the bottom of the points table last year. They come here with a 7-wicket win against the Sussex Sharks where their batsmen and bowlers were clinical with the performance. They don’t have the best record against Surrey and Lloyd would like to improve on that in this game.
Sam Northeast looked in good form and the side would like to see him do well opening the batting with David Lloyd. Marnus Labuschagne will have a huge responsibility being the best batsman for the side in the middle order and shall be looking to add runs with Kiran Carlson and Chris Cooke. Daniel Douthwaite and Joe Cooke have good striking abilities and they will have to do the big-hitting towards the end.
Michael Neser was expensive in the last game, and he will have to provide good support to Michael Hogan who bowled brilliantly in the last game. Daniel Douthwaite would also be confident after his good show in the last game and shall look to bowl tight lines in the middle overs with Prem Sisodiya and James Weighell.

The skies over London would have odd clouds on May 27 and we expect the ball to move in the early overs. There would be good pace and bounce on this surface. Batsmen will have to be watchful on this surface and the side batting first would be happy to have 170 runs on the board here.
Kennington Oval, London balances it out between the batsmen and the bowlers. Fast bowlers see early assistance from this surface but batsmen who get their eyes in have done well here in the past. It isn’t the easiest venue for the spinners as the short square boundaries make it a challenging track to bowl on.
All the four games last year were won by the side that chased scores. This wicket is slightly tricky, and we have seen average scores here in the past. The side chasing the score has an advantage. Hence, we believe the side that wins the toss here would have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.
Glamorgan has come here with a good start, but they have a huge challenge ahead of them. Their bowling attack would be tested given the kind of batting firepower Surrey have. They will have to play aggressive cricket to win here. Surrey comes here with a formidable line-up. They have depth in both the departments of the game and with three match-winning all-rounders, and this would make them favorites to win this game.
