Sydney Sixers will face Melbourne Stars in match six of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 at the Ray Mitchell Oval, Harrup Park, Mackay on Sunday.
Sydney Sixers will be entering the contest as firm favourites as they are the only team to have played two matches and won both of them in the ongoing edition of the WBBL.
The most impressive thing about the Sixes has been the fact that they won the first match while chasing whereas they outclassed the opposition in the second fixture by batting first.
Melbourne Stars will be coming into the fixture slightly low on confidence after suffering a nine-run defeat in their tournament opener against Brisbane Heat at the same venue on Saturday.
Both teams have played 13 times in the history of the competition where the Sixers have a slight edge with seven wins compared to the six victories of the Stars.
The management will be hoping that the players will be able to keep the momentum going and secure a much-needed win against the Stars.
In the batting department, the Sixers will be heavily relying on the tournament’s leading run-getter Ellyse Perry and veterans all-rounder Suzie Bates and Erin Burns to score the bulk of the runs and give the bowlers something to bowl with.
On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, right-arm pacer Maitlan Brown, left-arm fast-medium Lauren Cheatle and Perry to produce timely breakthroughs and restrict the opposition.

The most disappointing thing for the management would be the fact that the team failed in chasing a target of 180 despite having a brilliant start with a 76-run partnership.
The management will be hoping that the players will be able to get their act together and produce a much better show than what they did a day earlier.
For the game on Sunday, the onus will be on the likes of in-form opening batter Lauren Winfield-Hill, right-hander Annabel Sutherland, opener Bess Heath, top-order batter Kim Garth and all-rounder Alice Capsey to score the bulk of the runs and put the opposition under pressure.
It will be also interesting to see whether captain and wicketkeeper-batter Nicole Faltum will look to bat up the order or will she continue to bat at number seven.
On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Garth, Tess Flintoff, Annabel Sutherland and off-spinner Sasha Moloney to produce timely breakthroughs and restrict the opposition to a manageable total.

The wicket prepared at Mackay is expected to provide a decent contest between bat and ball. The spinners will definitely play a key role in the outcome of the match. The weather forecast for the game on Sunday is light clouds during the evenings.
Ray Mitchell Oval, Harrup Oval in Mackay is going to host the sixth match of 2022 Women's Big Bash League between Sydney Sixers women and Melbourne Stars women.
Sixers will take heart from the fact they have registetred back-to-back victories in the matches played at Mackay this season.
Both the teams will be keen to win the toss, bat first and post a competitive score in excess of 170 runs. The previous two WBBL matches played at Mackay have been won by side batting first.
Both teams will be coming to the contest with contrasting morale as the Sixers have won two in a row whereas the Stars have suffered a defeat in their only outing.
On paper, the Sixers are looking much better team with most of their basis covered, especially in the bowling department where their bowlers have taken 16 wickets combined in two matches, completely opposite to Stars bowlers who have only managed to claim three wickets in the match against the Heat.
Expect the Perry-led Sixers side to secure another win and strengthen their position at the top of the table.
