Big Bash League has started off with a busy cricketing schedule in Australia. With the build up for the Test series against India intensifying, the Australian public are looking to entertain themselves with BBL matches till then.  Both Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder lost their opening encounter and are looking to get their first points this season. Brisbane Heat have got the better off Sydney Thunder with a good head-to-head record and they will look to continue their dominant run against their favored opposition. Sydney thunder will look to resurrect their campaign with a win in this match and start to move ahed in the points table.

Sydney Thunder Preview

Sydney Thunder failed to time their chase to perfection and failed to get going in the early part of match and left too much for the later stages of the innings. Callum Ferguson (54 runs) and Ale Hales (46runs) had a good partnership in the middle but their middle order batsmen fell like nine pins as they were reduced from 115/2 to 145/9.

Spin trio of Tanveer Sangha, Chris Green, and Jonathan Cook had combined figures of 12-0-101-5 in the match.  Daniel Sams and McAndrew too chipped in with vital wickets in the middle order. Their bowling unit failed to restrict the opposition despite getting wickets at regular intervals as they ended up giving 169 runs in their 20 overs.

Top players to bet on:

Callum Ferguson – Ferguson took on the bowling attack after the early wicket to hit 54 runs off 35 balls with 6 boundaries and a six. He failed to get the required support from the other end last game and will look to continue his good form with the bat in this match too.

Tanveer Sangha – 19-year old leggie Sangha was the pick of the bowlers last night with figures of 4-0-26-2. He will look to continue his superb rhythm with the ball in this match too.

X-factor player options: Matthew Gilkes, Brendan Doggett

Sydney Thunder Predicted Playing XI:

Usman Khawaja, Alex Hales, Callum Ferguson (c), Baxter Holt (wk), Alex Ross, Ben Cutting, Daniel Sams, Chris Green, Nathan McAndrew, Jonathan Cook, Tanveer Sangha

Their bowlers Xavier Barlett, Mathew Kuhemann, and jack Wood tried their best and reduced the opposition to 34/3 at the end of power play.  But, they were left with too little runs to defend on this batsmen friendly track and eventually lost the match by 6 wickets in just 17.1 overs.

Chris Lynn – Lynn has scored 5 fifties in 11 matches against Sydney Thunder in BBL and will look to continue his aggressive hitting in this match too.   He has 467 runs at a strike arte of 175+ against Thunder.

Jack wood – Wood picked up the wickets of Ben Dunk and Glenn Maxwell t tope their middle order and had bowling figures of 3-0-28-2 in the match. We expect him to continue his good form with the ball in this match too.
