Luke Wright would want his batsmen to fire in this game. They have one of the strongest batting line-ups but in both the games they have bitten dust. There hasn’t been much for the bowlers to defend. In this must-win game Wright would want his batsmen to assume more responsibility. 

Chris Gayle has failed in both the games and needs to score runs in company of Paul Stirling. In the middle order they have good strength with players like Ben Duckett, Joe Clarke and Wright in the side. Down the order Najibullah Zardan and Jamie Overton need to play a strong hand for the side to win this game. 

Usman Shinwari and Rohan Mustafa leaked runs in the early overs and the team would need them to bowl tighter spells. Naveen-ul-Haq did well and he will have to play an important role in this game. Jamie Overton and Obed McCoy were expensive in the last game and they will need to restrict the flow of runs here.

Pune Devils Preview

Nasir Hossain’s side suffered a crashing defeat in the last game against the Qalandars. They batted first and put up a small total on the board and their bowling attack was taken to cleaners losing the game by 9 wickets. Hossain would know that Team Abu Dhabi would be under pressure after two losses and look to exploit this. 

Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Kennar Lewis have done well but they will need to improve their scoring rate. The same is true for Darwish Rasooli as he has been slow compared to the pace this format demands. Chadwick Walton and Hossain add good strength to the batting and the side would need them to do the big hitting towards the end of the game.

Their bowlers failed to execute the plan in the last game. Mohammad Amir and Hossain will have to bowl tighter spells with the new ball. The side would also want Karan KC, Munis Ansari and Hardus Viljoen need to pitch the ball in the right areas which they failed to do in the last game.

Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi has large boundaries but the outfield is lightning fast here and offers lots of boundary scoring opportunities for the batsmen. It is tough for the fast bowlers with little support for them. Spinners do well since the ball turns sharply and lead to false strokes from the batsmen.
