It is the 29h game of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2021 and hosts Trent Rockets Women would be taking on the Manchester Originals Women. The Rockets come here with a loss against the Birmingham Phoenix Women while the Manchester Originals Women won their last game against the Northern Superchargers Women.

The Manchester Originals Women have played poorly for most of the tournament and have managed just two wins so far. This game is an official formality for the side, and it will be interesting to see how they approach the contest here. The Trent Rockets Women shall be aiming for a big win here which can take them to the Eliminator round.

Trent Rocket Women Preview

Natalie Sciver’s side batted poorly in the last game against the Birmingham Phoenix Women to lose it by 3 wickets. This loss has compounded the problems for the side as they must win this one by a big margin to make it through to the next round. Sciver would like to make best use of the home advantage in this game and win it for the side.

Rachel Priest and Sammy-Jo-Johnson are getting starts but the side would need a good show from them in this game. In Natalie Sciver, Heather Graham and Katherine Brunt the side has a strong middle order. They would also be expecting runs in this game from the likes of Abigail Freeborn and Sarah Glenn in the lower order.

Katherine Brunt and Sammy-Jo-Johnson have bowled tight lines in the last few games and the side would like to see early wickets from them in this game. Kathryn Bryce too has impressed with her bowling, and they make a solid core. The likes of Sarah Glenn, Heather Graham and Georgia Davis would be expected to provide good support in this game.

Trent Rocket Women Predicted Playing XI:

Natalie Sciver (c), Rachel Priest (wk), Sammy-Jo Johnson, Katherine Brunt, Heather Graham, Sarah Glenn, Abigail Freeborn, Emily Windsor, Kathryn Bryce, Lucy Higham, Georgia Davis

Manchester Originals Women Preview

It was a good show in the last game from Kate Cross’ side as they won convincingly against the Northern Superchargers Women by 8 wickets. But this win has come too late as they are out of contention for the next round. As the side brings down curtains to their campaign Cross would be looking for a positive result for the team to end on a high.

Lizelle Lee and Emma Lamb are doing well with the bat for the last few games and the side would like to see a good effort from them at the top. In the middle order Mignon du Preez and Cordelia Griffith played well in the last game and shall look to take their form forward. The side would also like to see good hits down the order from Sophie Ecclestone, Alice Dyson and Eleanor Threlkeld.

Kate Cross and Ecclestone have found form in the last few games, and they would have to get early breakthroughs for the side in this game. Alex Hartley, Hannah Jones and Natalie Brown also come here after bowling tight lines in the last game. The side would need them to repeat the same magic here and win the game.

Manchester Originals Women Predicted Playing XI:

Kate Cross (c), Lizelle Lee, Emma Lamb, Georgie Boyce, Mignon du Preez, Sophie Ecclestone, Cordelia Griffith, Eleanor Threlkeld (wk), Natalie Brown, Alex Hartley, Hannah Jones

Weather Conditions

The skies over Nottingham be partly cloudy on August 15 and the conditions are expected to be tough for the batters. The track has played slow, and batters would have to play the patient game and look to rotate strike. A score of 140 runs or more would be a good one for this surface.

Venue Details

Trent Bridge, Nottingham has a large outfield and hence there are less boundary scoring opportunities for the batters. They have to rotate the strike to do well in these conditions.  There is early movement off the surface for the fast bowlers and we have seen spinners enjoy good record here.

Toss: To Bowl

There is slowness on the surface and batters are finding it tough to score runs on this surface. We have seen low scoring games which is something both the skippers would have in mind at the toss. The side winning it is likely to have a bowl in this game.

Manchester Originals Women have had a poor tournament and apart from their brilliance in the last game there hasn’t been much to cheer for the side so far. Their batters are in poor form, and this is a problem for the team. Trent Rockets Women would be playing at home, and they have been in good form off late. It is expected to be a close contest, but Rockets would start nose ahead in the game.
