Their next match against Washington Freedom turned out to be a close affair, which they lost by 6 runs, despite some late blitz by Dwayne Bravo (76* off 39 balls).

The Super Kings have a stable lineup and have most bases covered. In Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway, they have two solid and in-form openers who can play the long innings. David Miller provides stability in the middle-order while Mitchell Santner and Dwayne Bravo are handy finishers. 

The Super Kings’ top and middle-order failed in their last match in their chase of 164 against Washington Freedom. Conway and Miller had both struck fifties in the first game and we are expecting a substantial contribution from either of these two in this match. Du Plessis has had two failures, but it would be prudent to back him to deliver in this contest.

On the bowling front, the team is quite sorted. Rusty Theron has been doing a fine job with the new ball. After failing to win their first match in a high-scoring affair, MI New York have announced themselves in Major League Cricket with a thumping 105-run win over Los Angeles Knight Riders. Batting first on a two-paced wicket, MI posted 155-8 on the board, and then shot out the Knight Riders for just 50.

So far, MI’s top-order has failed to deliver, and it’s their middle and lower orders that have bailed them out. Opener Dewald Brevis’ failures have hurt them, but this slow pitch might not make things easier for the inexperienced young batter anytime soon.

Nicholas Pooran has scored of 40 and 38 in the two matches, and we are backing him to deliver in this game too. Another batter to keep an eye out for is Tim David. In Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult, Mi have two of the world’s most premier fast bowlers, which makes their bowling attack dangerous for any team. Both have taken 4 wickets apiece so far and will look to continue with their momentum. Ehsan Adil and Kieron Pollard were both miserly in the last match against the Knight Riders. This wicket is slowing down and suits these kinds of bowlers. We are expecting them to do well in this match as well.
