The United Arab Emirates suffered a surprising loss against Kuwait in the last game while Singapore went down against Hong Kong.  

The United Arab Emirates has enjoyed a good record at this ground, and they have won the last eight out of ten games played. This will make the side confident as their batsmen looked in good form. Singapore has a steep hill to climb in this game. They need to punch above their weight to defeat UAE which is a much stronger side.

Chundangapoyil Rizwan’s side suffered a 1-wicket loss against Kuwait in the last game. The skipper would be upset with the loss as they failed to defend a score of 173 runs. They must win this game to stay alive in the tournament. Rizwan would like to see a better effort from his bowlers in this must-win game.   

Muhammad Waseem and Chirag Suri played brilliantly at the top and the team would expect a similar start from them. Vriitya Aravind shall need to work on his strike rate and add runs in the middle order with Basil Hameed and Zawar Farid. The side would also expect to see quick runs from Chundangapoyil Rizwan and Rohan Mustafa in this game.  

Rohan Mustafa and Kashif Daud must bowl better lines with the new ball as they missed their line and lengths in the last game. Basil Hameed did well but he will need support from Junaid Siddique and Zahoor Khan in the middle overs. Ahmed Raza adds to the side’s bowling options.

Amjad Mahboob’s side would be under pressure in this game. They went down against Hong Kong in their opening game by 8 wickets. The side failed to build partnerships after their bowlers had done a good job. Mahboob shall look to put this loss behind and come up with a good show against a stronger opponent.  

Openers Rohan Rangarajan and Aritra Dutta shall look to offer a good start to the side in this game. In Rezza Gaznavi they have a good hitter of the ball at No. 3, and he will need to play an important role in this game along with Janak Prakash and Manpreet Singh. The side would also need runs from Avi Dixit and Surendran Chandramohan down the order.

We expect to see clear skies over Al Amerat on August 22. The wicket would be on the slower side, but batting conditions are expected to be good. Batsmen have to adjust to the bounce and pace of the surface to do well. The side batting first shall be happy with a score of 160 or more.

Al Amerat Cricket Ground has a flat surface and we have seen big scores here in the past. The outfield is fast, and this allows batsmen to score runs in boundaries. Fast bowlers don’t have much on this wicket as the bounce is low. Spinners enjoy these conditions as the ball tends to take a sharp turn.

At this venue, the side chasing always has an advantage. The wicket is on the slower side and setting up totals has been a challenge here in the past. We expect to see the side winning the toss opting to bowl first.
