The batting department will definitely be led by Captain Alyssa Healy, as not only a leader but also because of the experience she gets in this team. They have also secured quite a few quality all-rounders who will be crucial if UP Warriorz need to go all the way in the tournament.

The bowling department is definitely the stronger of the 2 departments in this team. Rajeswari Gayakwad, Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone team up to make one of the strongest bowling attacks in the tournament. Not the ideal start of the tournament the Gujarat Giants would have hoped for. With all the controversy surrounding them with Deandra Dottin, things went from bad to worse after not only losing the first game but potentially losing Captain Beth Mooney for the rest of the tournament as well.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Gujarat Giants were immediately pushed on the back foot by the Mumbai top order as they went all guns blazing. To make things worse, the middle order completely blew the Giants away, as they managed to score 207 runs. All the bowlers were taken to the cleaners, but Sneh Rana managed to pick up 2 wickets.

The batting department would want to forget this game as soon as possible. Losing Captain Beth Mooney to an unfortunate injury in the first over, the rest of the batsmen could not cope with the pressure.
