The Birmingham Bears would be looking to improve their position on the points table as they take on the Derbyshire Falcons in the 62nd game of the Vitality T20 Blast 2021. The Bears would be playing at home and had lost to Durham Cricket in the last game owing to poor batting. As far as the Falcons are concerned they come here after a loss against the Leicestershire Foxes in their last game.  

Derbyshire Falcons have so far struggled with their form in the tournament and have just two wins against six defeats. They will need to come up with a better show here to open up their chances of making it to the knockout stages. The Bears have always been a strong force at home and they would look to continue with their dominance here.

Will Rhodes’ side batted poorly down the order in the last game against Durham Cricket to lose it by 22 runs. The loss would have hurt the skipper as they looked set for a win. They have to put this defeat behind and look to move up on the points table with a win in this game. 

Ed Pollock and Adam Hose have to convert their starts which they failed to do in the last game. In the middle order the side would also expect runs from Rhodes, Sam Hain and Dan Mousley. The presence of Carlos Brathwaite and Michael Burgess down the order is a huge boost for the side as they bring in good hitting abilities to the table. 

On the bowling front the side would like to see early wickets from Mousley and Danny Briggs in this game. Brathwaite and Tim Bresnan have lot of experience and they would have to come up with a good show in this game. With Craig Miles, Rhodes and Jacob Bethell down the order batting looks good for the side.

Billy Godleman’s side comes into this game after suffering a big loss against Leicestershire Foxes in the last game. Their batting line-up has struggled in most of the games so far and they would have to make a turnaround here. They had lost against the Bears earlier in the season and shall have to win this game to improve their position. 

Luis Reece and Harry Came aren’t in the best of form opening the batting for the side and they would need to make runs in this game. In the middle order Godleman will have to lead the way and set up partnerships with Matthew Critchley and Leus du Plooy. Down the order the side would need big hits from Brooke Guest and Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

Logan van Beek and Conor McKerr were expensive in the last game and the side would need to see a better show from them with the new ball in this game. Alex Thompson and Hudson-Prentice did impress in the last game bowling tight spells and the same would be expected from them. George Scrimshaw would need to play the containing role as Bears have big hitters in their side.
