In the 22nd game of Momentum Cup we will see the Warriors taking on the Knights at Buffalo Park, East London. The last two games haven’t been good for the Warriors as they suffered consecutive defeats against the Titans after having had a wonderful run earlier in the season. As far as Knights are concerned they have been in pathetic form and not won a single game so far in the season. 

Warriors have a wonderful record against the Knights have won the last six games between the two sides including one earlier this season. It remains to be seen if the Knights can bounce back from the low they are currently in and win against a stronger Warriors team.

Warriors Preview

Two back to back defeats against the Titans have suddenly created some worries for the Warriors. They were looking as the best side till their last two games. Having defeated the Knights earlier in the season the team would go into the next game with confidence. 

Openers Gihahn Cloete and Matthew Breetzke made amends for their dip in form in the last game this would add to the confidence of the side. JJ Smutts has been in good form this season and so have been Marco Marais and Sinethemba Qeshile both of whom have scored runs in the earlier games. All in all they have a strong batting line-up that would surely test the Knights bowlers in the upcoming game. 

Lutho Sipamla has been in great rhythm throughout the season and this is something that has helped them win games. Smutts has been bowling tight spells and has been tough to score against. Glenton Stuurman and Andrew Birch aren’t in the best rhythm which creates some problem for the side. If they can check the flow of runs the Warriors bowling would make it tough for the Knights.

Knights Preview

There has been nothing to be proud of for Petrus van Biljon's men this season. Their last game against the Lions was washed out and so far they haven’t been able to register a single win. They would look to turn it around in the next game. 

Batting has been giving them trouble in the season and opener Grant Mokoena is going through a rough ride. Andries Gous and Keegan Petersen have looked the only players in decent form and even the form of skipper Biljon is causing worries. Rudi Second the wicketkeeper and Ryan McLaren did well in their last completed game and this would give some confidence to the side ahead of the next game. 

The bowlers have had a better season as compared to the batsmen. Marchant de Langeb has been troubling the batsmen. Mbulelo Budaza has also been doing well and the skipper would hope the likes of Ryan McLaren, Shadley van Schalkwyk and Eddie Leie to bowl a tight line against a strong batting line-up that the Warriors have.

The weather forecast for the 15th of Match at East London is of rain. This would add to the advantage of the fast bowlers as the pitch is known to assist the speedsters. Stroke makers are likely to do well as the ball would come onto the bat. Any team scoring around the 280 run mark would create a chance for itself.

The small ground at Buffalo Park, East London has seen several high scoring games in the past. The fast bowlers get good bargain out of this surface and stroke makers who go over the top also score runs in this ground as the boundaries are smaller as compared to some of the other grounds.
