It is the 16th match of the Momentum One Day Cup 2019 and Warriors who are currently sitting on the top of the points table shall take on Titans. Warriors are looking in red hot form and haven’t lost a single game this season and Titans on the other hand have won two out of their four games. They would draw confidence having won their last game convincingly.

Titans has won the two league games against the Warriors last season but lost against them in the all-important semi-final. The two sides have shared great rivalry over the years and it would be interesting to see which side walks away with a win.

Warriors Preview

JJ Smuts would be happy with the performance of his side so far in the season. They haven’t lost a single game and held their nerves to win the last game against the Lions. One more win will assure them a place in the semis.

Sinethemba Qeshile played an outstanding knock in the last and won it for his side. He was well supported by Colin Ackerman after the top order collapse. Openers Gihahn Cloete and Matthew Breetzke have done well in the tournament and having JJ Smuts and Lesiba Ngoepe in the batting order it adds strength to their batting.

Lutho Sipamla and Andrew Birch had a great game with the ball in a high scoring game. They held their nerves when it matters and won the game for the side. Sisanda Magala also did well with the ball. They have a quality bowling attack going into this game with skipper JJ Smuts and Colin Ackermann in the attack.

Warriors Predicted Playing XI:

JJ Smuts (c), Andrew Birch, Gihahn Cloete, Colin Ackermann, Lesiba Ngoepe, Sisanda Magala, Lutho Sipamla, Matthew Breetzke, Marco Marais, Sinethemba Qeshile (wk), Onke Nyaku

Warriors Actual Playing XI:

Andrew Birch, Colin Ackermann, JJ Smuts, SSB Magala, Sinethemba Qeshile, Lutho Sipamla, Marco Marais, Matthew Breetzke, Lesiba Ngoepe, Glenton Stuurman, Gihahn Cloete

Titans Preview

Heinrich Klaasen would have been a relieved man at the end of the last game against Cape Cobras. It ended their two match losing streak and also showed the strength that they have in their batting and bowling.

The side batted extremely well with Aiden Markram and Farhaan Behardien scoring brilliant hundred. From 31 for 5 they took the score all the way up to 320 runs. The form of openers Jonathan Vandiar and Tony de Zorzi has become bit of a concern for the side as they have failed in the last few games. The batting looks good though with Heinrich Klaasen, Theunis de Bruyn and Dean Elgar in the side.

Their bowlers had a great game with Chris Morris bowling well. Gregory Mahlokwana and Junior Dala also did well in the last game. With Tshepo Moreki and Aiden Markram in the side they have depth in their bowling.

Titans Predicted Playing XI:

Dean Elgar, Jonathan Vandiar, Farhaan Behardien, Chris Morris, Theunis de Bruyn, Aiden Markram, Junior Dala, Heinrich Klaasen (c & wk), Tshepo Moreki, Tony de Zorzi, Gregory Mahlokwana

Titans Actual Playing XI:

Alfred Mothoa, TL Moreki, Tony de Zorzi, Heinrich Klaasen, Dean Elgar, Junior Dala, Heino Kuhn, Gregory Mahlokwana, Aiden Markram, Chris Morris, Farhaan Behardien

Weather Conditions

St George's Park, Port Elizabeth has been a paradise for bowlers over the years. There has always been grass cover on the wicket which has assisted fast bowlers as they generate movement off the surface. Stroke makers have also done well on this wicket as the ball comes on to the bat nicely.

Toss: To Bowl

It has been almost the same for the entire season where teams winning the toss have on most occasions decided to field first. With overcast conditions the captain would be looking to get best out of early movements of the new ball and put the opposition into bat.

Warriors have looked the best side this season and have won all their games. In difficult situations one or the other player has risen to accept the challenge. Titans on the other hand have had a mixed bag of a season where they have won two out of their four games so far. Going into this game Warriors definitely have the edge and are most likely to win this one.
