London Spirit Women to win
Tournament: The Hundred Women | Format: 100-BALL CRICKET | Venue: Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, England | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowWelsh Fire Women who have had a miserable run in The Hundred Women’s Competition, 2021 would be taking on the London Spirit Women in the 32nd game of the tournament. Both the sides are out of the contention for the next round after their losses in the last games. Welsh Fire went down to the Southern Brave Women while the London Spirit Women lost to the Oval Invincibles Women.
It has been a similar story in both the camps where they have been let down by their batters. In most of the games the sides have put up low scores and this has led to their miserable show. This game is all about pride and bragging rights and as the two teams end their campaign it would all be about ending the campaign on a high.
Sophie Luff’s side has had a bad tournament and comes here with a 39-run defeat against the Southern Brave Women. They are sitting in the bottom of the points table with just two wins so far. The side has nothing to lose here playing at home and Luff would like to see a good show from her players that would let them end it on a high.
Bryony Smith and Hayley Matthews have to do well at the top as their inconsistency has hurt the side’s prospects in this season. The middle order has looked good, and runs would be expected from Georgia Redmayne, Sarah Taylor and Luff shall have to make runs. Down the order Georgia Hennessy, Alice McLeod and Piepa Cleary will look to add quick runs to the score.
Piepa Cleary and Bryony Smit were expenskive in the last game and the side would like to see better efforts from them here. Matthew has been their best bowler in the tournament, and she will have to do well for the team to win. Nicole Harvey, Alex Griffiths and Hennessy add depth to this attack.

Heather Knight’s side went down in the last game against the Oval Invincibles Women by 8 wickets after a poor show from their batters. This loss has nearly ended their hopes of making it to the next round. The side has been inconstant with the bat and as they play their last game Knight would look for a consolation win.
Tammy Beaumont has looked good in the last three games, and she will look to set up a good opening stand with Naomi Dattani. Knight has been on and off with her form and the side would like to see good show from her along with Deandra Dottin and Danielle Gibson. Deepti Sharma and Chloe Tryon would need to play the role of finishers well in this game.
Deepti Sharma has been brilliant right throughout the tournament and the side would want her to deliver sharing the new ball with Freya Davies. Sophie Munro, Charlotte Dean and Knight also did well to defend the low score in the last game and they will have to come up with similar efforts in this game.

The skies over Cardiff shall be mostly clear on August 18 and batting conditions should be the best we have seen in this tournament. The wicket has looked flat, and batters will look to play their strokes. The side batting first would have a target score of 140 runs in mind in these conditions.
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff is a big ground, but the wicket here has been a good one to bat on once the first few overs are done. The large size of the ground needs batters to play patiently and keep rotating the strike. There is early assistance for the fast bowlers and spinners do well as there is turn on offer for them.
All the three games played at this venue have seen the sides chasing the scores register massive wins. The wicket has assistance for the bowlers early on during the and batting early isn’t easy. The side winning the toss is likely to opt for bowling first.
There isn’t much to choose between the two teams after the kind of performances we have seen from them right through the tournament. Welsh Fire Women have struggled with the bat, and this is something they will have to get over in this game. London Spirit Women too have had their problems, but the side has a good bowling attack and this would put them slightly ahead in this game.
