Nepal made history by beating the West Indies in the 2nd T20I to register their first-ever series win against a Test-playing nation. This is also the lowest point West Indies cricket has hit in recent times.
This is worse than the two-time champions not qualifying for the 2022 T20 World Cup. The likes of Kyle Mayers, Keacy Carty, and Ackeem Auguste have failed to live up to expectations in the batting department.
Nepal’s Aasif Sheikh and Sandeep Jora led them to a brilliant first innings total in the last game. Rohit Paudel will be confident in his team’s batting abilities after the recent performance and will be keen on making a comeback himself.
For the West Indies, Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein hold the key to success in the bowling attack that features some new faces. Nevertheless, they still have plenty of experienced batters in the side and should be able to deliver a much stronger batting performance.
Nepal’s bowling variety has worked wonders for them so far. In the opening game, 6 of the 7 bowlers used by the skipper picked up at least a wicket. In the second outing, only two of the 7 bowlers were wicketless.
Nepal will be confident coming into the third and final game of the series, and with an in-form bowling attack, they might very well finish a clean sweep.

West Indies have lost the series but will be out to play for pride. The two-time T20 World champions have lost to a non-Test-playing nation. Despite some of the best T20 stars in the side, the Windies have failed to deliver on the big stage in recent years.
And though this series saw some new faces, they still pack a strong punch in the batting. With Jason Holder and Finn Allen coming in at 6 and 7, the batting order features some experienced finishers.
However, both of these players have failed to deliver what’s expected of them with the bat. What the Windies need at this point is their top 4 to come good and set up a foundation for a big finish.
Kyle Mayers and Keacy Karty are the key batters in the top 3. Mayers is known for his big-hitting abilities and has delivered some impressive knocks against the top-class bowling of Australia.
For someone like him to fail against Nepal is a shocker. Then there is Ackeem Augustee, who was a big hit in the recent CPL. He played a few impressive knocks in the middle order and was a crucial player for his franchise.
Amir Jangoo, who made his T20I debut in this series, has been part of the CPL for quite some time and features regularly in the middle order. Though these batters are no Hetmyer and Pooran, they are still capable of chasing down 150+ against a non-Test-playing nation.
The bowlers have also let down, by letting Nepal get away to a big score in the second T20I. With Fabian Allen not bowling out his full quota of four overs, his contribution and role in the side aren’t as useful.
Jason Holder, the seniormost player in the side, picked up 4 for 20 in the opening game and was the top bowler for the team. He went for 39 runs and was wicketless in the second game.
The rest of the bowlers are very inexperienced and may struggle at this venue agaisnt a confident side, but the likes of Holder, Hosein, and Mayers will need to lead the bowling attack.

Nepal have a great opportunity to create history by completing a clean sweep against the Windies. They have already made a big splash by securing a series win by beating the two-time world champions in both outings so far.
The pitch here suits Nepal better than the West Indies. However, that doesn’t mean that Nepal haven’t faced any issues with the bat. It is a slow wicket that makes it difficult for the batters to clear the small boundaries at this venue in Sharjah.
Aasif Sheikh played a steady knock to lead Nepal’s comeback after they lost quick wickets in the power play. Whereas, the middle-order batsman Sandeep Jora played a fiery knock, scoring 63 off 39 balls to propel the side to a winning total.
Kushal Bhurtel has failed to get going in both matches so far and will be expected to make a comeback here. Skipper Rohit Paudel holds a crucial position in the batting order and can play the anchor’s role for the side.
There is great depth in the batting lineup with Dipendra Singh at number 7. The batting all-rounder has a strike rate of 140+ and the highest score of 110 runs. Though the conditions may not suit his style of batting, he is still a threat to the opposition.
He also leads the bowling attack and is a key wicket-taker for Nepal. Karan KC and Lalith Rajabansi are other key bowlers to watch out for in this varied bowling attack of Nepal.

We expect clear skies in Sharjah around the match time. There should be no weather interruptions during the game, and the humidity in the air will offer some movement through the air for the seamers.

Historically, the pitch has helped the spinners and been on the slower side, giving the bowlers an edge in the contest. The average first innings score in T20Is at this venue is 145 runs. A total of 148 runs was more than enough to win the first game in this series. We reckon the team batting first should aim for something around 165-170 runs to be in a winning position.
The team batting first has won both matches in this series at this venue. It is not easy to score runs on this wicket, and as such, chasing a competitive total will be a tough challenge. Nepal will surely continue to back themselves to defend a total on the back of their recent wins, while West Indies would now have the wisdom to not bowl first if they win the toss.
Though the West Indies have a strong batting lineup with more experienced players at each of the key positions, they are struggling against Nepal’s bowlers. Nepal, on the other hand, look very promising with their in-form bowlers and a strong middle order. Nepal will have the edge going into this match and start as favourites in our match prediction.
