England and West indies come into this series after their respective losses in Ashes and ODI series against Ireland. Despite the losses being in other formats both teams will be eager to get back to winning ways with a victory in the first match of the tour. England will be going ahead with a completely different squad from the squad that played ashes while West Indies will have almost the same squad that played the ODI series. England has been in excellent form in the T20Is for the last 2-3 years but West Indies has lost their mojo as one of the strong t20 sides in the last year.

West Indies Preview

West Indies has a lot of few faces in the squad with the Kieron Pollard at the helm. Shai Hope and Brandon King are expected to open with Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Darren Bravo, and Roston Chase expected to play a huge role in the middle order. They have great depth in batting line-up with the likes Holder, Shepherd, and Odean Smith.

Sheldon Cotrell and Jason Holder will lead their pace attack with the likes of Romario Shepherd and Odean Smith in the playing XI. Dominic Drakes and Kyle Mayers are the reserve pacers in the squad. Akeal Hossain and Roston Chase will be their first choice spinners with Fabian Allen and Hayden Walsh waiting in the ranks for their chance.

Shai Hope – Shai Hope scored 99 runs in the Ireland series and was looking in great touch with a quick fire fifty in the last ODI match. We expect him to play a big role in setting up the innings for their tam in this match.

James Vince might be additional batter in the playing XI in this match.  

Tymal Mills, Chris Jordan, and Saqib Mahmood will be their pace attack for this match with the likes George Garton and Reece Topley as the reserve options in the squad.
