Rocks to win

It is the 2nd semifinal in the CSA T20 Challenge 2022 and we expect to see a tight contest between the Western Province and Rocks. Both sides come into this contest with losses. Western Province suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the Dolphins in the last game while the Rocks also went down against the Knights.
Western Province come here with back-to-back losses and the side would have to come out of the poor show in the last game where their batting crumbled. Rocks have struggled with the ball but have a very strong batting line-up. The stakes are high for both sides and we expect this contest to go down the wire.
Two consecutive losses at the backend of the campaign was the last thing Wayne Parnell would have liked. They lost against the Dolphins by 65 runs getting bowled out for mere 83 runs in their final game. The side had defeated the Rocks earlier in the season and Warnell would like his side to draw inspiration from that win. He would want to see a better show from his batsmen in this game.
Richard Levi and Daniel Smith got starts in the last game, but they will have to convert it here in this important game. The middle-order tumbled against the Dolphins and the side would expect better efforts from Dane Vilas, Tony de Zorzi, and Yaseen Vallie in this game. Parnell, George Linde, and Aviwe Mgijima add to the side’s batting strengths, and they have to play an important role here.
Their bowlers would have to make good use of the conditions and come up with a better show. Linde and Mgijima bowled good lines but others were expensive. The side would need early wickets from them here. Parnell must bring his experience to play and keep the scoring rate under check along with Mihlali Mpongwana and Junaid Dawood.

Pieter Malan would be upset to have lost the last game against the Knights. They were on course for a win in the game but failed to improve their scoring rate towards the end losing the game by 3 runs. Malan would have to put this behind and motivate his players to come up with their best performance in this game and make it to the finals.
Pieter Malan and Janneman Malan are in good form and the side would like to see a strong opening wicket stand from them in this game. Clyde Fortuin has looked good and adds strength to the middle order with Christiaan Jonker and Michael Copeland. Ferisco Adams and Valintine Kitime would be tasked with scoring quick runs in the final overs.
Their bowling attack had a bad day in the office in the last game. The side would need early strikes from Siyabonga Mahima and Imran Manack. Shaun von Berg and Ziyaad Abrahams did well in the last game and the side would bank on them to deliver a good show here. Adams and Copeland must do well in the supporting role.

The skies over Port Elizabeth would be slightly overcast on February 25 and there are chances of rains during the game. The wicket is lively, and the bowlers have enjoyed good returns from the surface. Batsmen have found the conditions challenging. The side batting first in this game would need 160 runs on the board to feel confident.
St George's Park, Port Elizabeth bowler-friendly surface where fast bowlers have done well. The ball also comes onto the bat nicely and batsmen and this allows batsmen to play their strokes freely. Spinners haven’t enjoyed a great record here and they have to rely on their skills.
Sides chasing the score have won most games in this tournament. The wicket has something for the bowlers early in the game and eases in the second innings. Hence, the side winning the toss here would like to take advantage of the conditions by bowling first.
Both sides come here with losses and this isn’t the ideal scenario going into a semifinal. Western Province’s batsmen have shown signs of struggle in the last couple of games and this would be worrying them. They need to bat well to win the game. Rocks have a very strong batting line-up with good experience and this would put them slightly ahead of Western Province.
