Tournament: VITALITY T20 BLAST 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds, England | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowVitality T20 Blast 2021 is midway into the season, and we have already seen the points table taking shape. In the 61st game the Yorkshire Vikings would be taking on the Worcestershire Rapids at their home ground in what is a very important game for the visitors. The Vikings won their last game against the Derbyshire Falcons while the Rapids were blown away the Notts Outlaws.
The Worcestershire Rapids are without the services of their regular captain and best player Moeen Ali and this is a huge blow to the side that lacks experience. They could make only 86 runs in the last game in 20 overs which speaks of the lack of form among their batsmen. The side had earlier lost to the Vikings and it would be interesting to see if they are able to turn things around here.
It was a comprehensive victory for Joe Root’s side in the last game against the Derbyshire Falcons which they ended up winning by 39 runs. They are looking good with the bat and the ball at the moment. The side had defeated the Worcestershire Rapids earlier in the season and they would be looking to repeat that here and move up to the top of the points table.
The side would expect a good start from Adam Lyth and Tom Kohler-Cadmore as the duo has been on and off with their form so far in the season. Root looked in good touch in the last game and shall look to put up runs alongside Gary Balance and Harry Brook. Jordan Thompson and Will Fraine have proved their abilities with the bat and make this line-up strong.
Matthew Fisher bowled well in the last game and so did Lockie Ferguson and Dominic Bess. The trio has lot of experience and they will have to put this to good use during this game. Root himself was expensive with the new ball and better lines would be expected from him. The side would also like to see tighter spells from Thompson and Matthew Waite.

Ben Cox who stood as skipper in absence of Moeen Ali in the last game saw his side to a 10 wicket loss against the Notts Outlaws. It was a miserable show with the bat by the side as they could only manage 86 runs in 20 overs. They are struggling at the bottom of the points table and need to pull up their socks for this game.
The absence of Moeen Ali is a huge blow to the side and they would need a good start from Riki Wessels and Brett D’Oliveira. The middle order has struggled in most of the games so far and runs would be needed from Jake Libby, Tom Fell and Ben Cox. Ross Whiteley and Ed Barnard would have to do the big hitting towards the end of the innings.
Dillon Pennington, Ben Dwarshuis and Ish Sodhi went for runs in the last game and they would need to come up with better efforts in this game being the best bowlers for the side. Charlie Morris and Barnard have been expensive so far in the tournament and shall have to stand up to the strong batting that Yorkshire has.

There would be slightly overcast skies over Leeds on June 23 and the ball is expected to move around a bit during the early overs. Batsmen would be able to play their strokes on this surface as the ball hits the bat hard. A score in excess of 170 runs would be a good one on this surface.
Headingley, Leeds is s a good venue for this form of cricket as there is something for the batsmen and bowlers here. The ball comes onto the bat nicely allowing the batsmen to play their strokes. The bowlers also generate good pace and bounce off the surface in the early overs. Spinners have to use their variations to do well at this venue.
The wicket is a tricky one to bat on in early part of the day when the ball moves around. Over the past few years we have seen most of the teams winning games cashing the score here. Hence, the side that wins the toss in this game would have little hesitation in opting to bowl first.
Worcestershire Rapids have struggled so far in the season especially with the bat. They have to win this game to keep their hopes alive for a place in the quarterfinals. It will be a big challenge for the inexperienced side in this game. Yorkshire Vikings on the other hand are looking in great form at the moment and have their bowlers and batsmen in good form. Playing at home they would start favorites in this game.
