Zimbabwe team have bowed out of the Tri-series after failing to win in their first three matches. Zimbabwe will look to win this match and take some confidence going into the ICC T20 qualifiers to be played later this year. Afghanistan has been a force to reckon with in the T20I format. They have piled up 14 consecutive T20I wins so far and will look to extend it to build momentum into the ICC T20s to be played next year. They will also look to test their bench strength in this match and look for their best squad for the big tournament. A win against even a second-string Afghan side will do a world of good for the distraught Zimbabwe team.

Zimbabwe Preview

Zimbabwe team`s form and confidence are going deep down the spiral with every loss and they need to secure a win to raise their spirits going forward. Ryan Burl and Richmond Mutumboni have scored fighting 50+ scores but ended up on losing side in both the matches. Regis Chakabva and Skipper Hamilton Masakadza have played some good cameos but were not able to convert them into a big score. Pacers Chris Mpofu and Kyle Jarvis shared 5 wickets between them in the last match but failed to control the run rate. Spinners Sean Williams and R Mutumbodzi gave runs at just 6 RPO and tried to pressurize the batsmen in the middle. Their bowling unit needs to perform as a team to control the opposition to a low total.
Key Players:
Richmond Mutumbani – Mutumbani came into the team in the last match and scored a valiant 54 runs off 32 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. He will look to bat a bit higher and score runs in this match too.
Sean Williams – Williams will look to trouble the Afghani right hander’s in the middle order with his left-arm angle and he had match figures of 2/16 last time they met. He was below par in the two matches against Bangladesh.

Zimbabwe Predicted Playing XI:

Brendan Taylor (wk), Hamilton Masakadza (c), Richmond Mutumbami, Sean Williams, Tinotenda Mutombodzi, Ryan Burl, Regis Chakabva, Neville Madziva, Kyle Jarvis, Ainsley Ndlovu, Chris Mpofu
