AFC Bournemouth vs Fulham FC Match Prediction & Analysis

Bournemouth are in a particularly dangerous position, kept off the bottom of the table by only a point and a Southampton team with even more problems than their south coast neighbours.

The Cherries have two wins from their last five and have therefore kept themselves in contention for survival by the skin of their teeth.

As many as nine teams sit within four points of each other near the bottom, from Crystal Palace in 12th all the way down. Victory here would likely see them climb out of the bottom three but can they achieve it?

Fulham have lost their way in recent weeks and find themselves on the end of a three-game losing streak in all competitions.

Two defeats in the league were followed by the disastrous mess in the FA Cup as they collapsed against Manchester United despite taking the lead.

Three red cards, including one for their manager, mean that they were the talking point for all the wrong reasons.

Reasons to be cheerful:

     Two wins from five keeps them in contention

     Haven’t lost any of their last three against Fulham 

Reasons to be fearful:

     Still have the most goals conceded this season

     Second fewest shots on target

Bournemouth, to their credit, are still in the hunt for survival with just a point separating them and Leicester in the relegation race.

They are grinding through their games right now, earning just enough points to keep them in contention to remain in the Premier League for another season.

The Cherries must stop conceding as many goals as they have been all season, of course. Ironically, they beat Liverpool by a 1-0 scoreline before getting thrashed 3-0 by Aston Villa the following week.

This could be a good time to play Fulham, however, The Cottagers are without key players and Bournemouth haven’t lost to their opponents over the past four meetings.

Star Man – Philip Billing

Billing is Bournemouth’s top scorer with six goals this season, including that winner against Liverpool not so long ago. Alongside Solanke, Billing must continue to find the goals for the Cherries to earn survival.

Reasons to be cheerful

     Must surely find a response after a poor patch of form

     Lost just one game this season against teams in the bottom half

Reasons to be fearful

     Will be without Mitrovic, Willian and possibly their manager here

     Hitting poor form at the wrong time

Fulham look the team most likely to drop out of the top half right now, considering their poor turn of form at just the wrong point of the season.

With Aston Villa coming up behind them quickly, they could find themselves replaced this weekend unless they can rediscover their winning form.

Positively, they have only lost one game against teams in the bottom half this season, although you feel that Bournemouth will be even harder to beat with only 10 games remaining.

If they are to win, they will have to do so without Aleksandar Mitrovic and Willian, who were both sent off in their FA Cup game against Manchester United.

Star Man – Manor Solomon

Has scored a goal every 70 minutes on average this season, proving that he doesn’t need much time to find the back of the net. He will surely start here with Willian and Mitrovic suspended.
