BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs LEICESTER CITY Match Preview & Analysis

Leicester are experiencing a dip in form at the worst possible point of the season, when teams below them are picking up points more frequently with the race for the top four really heating up.

The Foxes have failed to win either of their last two games, being beaten comfortably by Arsenal a week ago followed by a rather disappointing 1-1 draw against Burnley.

Having seen Manchester City disappear over the horizon at the top of the table, it’ll be a blow to see the likes of Chelsea and Everton rising fast behind them.

Brighton are without a win in their last four, but should really have come away with victory from their game against West Brom last weekend. Two missed penalties and some controversial refereeing saw to it that Brighton would remain level on Newcastle just above the relegation spots.

There is plenty at stake here for both sides.

Teams Preview

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Form Guide (all comps): DLDLL

Reasons to be cheerful:

Deserved to beat West Brom last weekend

Will remain confident of staying up this season with kinder schedule ahead

Reasons to be fearful:

Have earned just 10 points at home, the worst record in the division

Could lose three on the bounce for the first time since 2019

Brighton were victims of some terrible refereeing decisions last weekend, as they lost to West Brom, however did themselves no favours by also missing two penalties which would have handed them the points.

The Seagulls have failed all season to take their chances. They’ve had a mammoth 66 attempts on goal in their past three games, however only scored once for their efforts.

Fortunately, Fulham have also lost their way somewhat in 18th place, losing their last match and keeping the buffer to three points.

Here, they will remain without the injured Tariq Lamptey, who has suffered a setback on a hamstring issue, while Connolly faces a late fitness test after a back injury.

Star Man – Leandro Trossard

The attacking midfielder is a player of real quality and needs to step up for his side here.

Leicester City Preview

Form Guide (all comps): DWLLD

Reasons to be cheerful:

     Unbeaten in 12 away games

A chance to go 2nd here

Reasons to be fearful:

Could go three successive games without victory for the first time this season

Vardy’s poor form in front of goal is hindering his side

Leicester have suffered a dip in form of late, though they should see this as a real opportunity to bounce back strong and rise up into 2nd position.

With Manchester United likely to drop points against leaders Manchester City, a win here would take Leicester above them.

They will have to overcome a Brighton side with a point to prove here, having failed to take anything from their past two fixtures.

Scoring goals has been a problem for Leicester of late, with Jamie Vardy suffering through a goal drought and the likes of Harvey Barnes and James Maddison out injured.

This will be a tough game for Leicester, though if they can overcome it with a positive result, it could spur them on for the remainder of the season.

Star Man – Jamie Vardy

Is bang out of form at the moment, but has eight goal contributions in his last six appearances against Brighton.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs LEICESTER CITY Winning Prediction

     Even possession between both sides

     Chances at both ends

Leicester to get back to winning ways

Brighton are a tough side to predict this season, but what you can say for sure is that they’ll give Leicester a tough game here.

You’d find it hard to imagine Brighton not scoring with all the chances they create for themselves, but Leicester are in real need of a win, and they’re favourites to get it here.
