Leicester lost their seventh game of the season at the weekend, with an inspired Arsenal putting them to the sword in a surprisingly poor performance.

It’s only their second defeat from their last 13 matches, so there will be no panic around the club of impending disaster, however they will quickly look to return to form here, against a tough Burnley side.

Manchester City are miles ahead at the top of the table, but Manchester United are just a point clear of Leicester in second, and the Foxes will feel that they can still overturn them throughout the remainder of the season.

Burnley know that they can’t afford too many off days with the gap between them and relegation just five points. Fulham, Newcastle and Brighton all look more likely to be relegated than Burnley, but they will want to put as much distance between them as possible.

Burnley FC Preview

Form Guide (all comps): LWDDL

Reasons to be cheerful:

The Clarets have won three of their last four home meetings against Leicester

Chris Wood should be fit to return to the starting line-up after a month out

Reasons to be fearful:

The likes of Pieters, Gudmundsson, Brady and Barnes are all out

Were surprisingly poor in the 4-0 defeat to Spurs last weekend

Despite Burnley’s reputation as a battling, tough to beat side, they were undone remarkably easily by Tottenham last weekend, losing 4-0 in game that never appeared close.

The Clarets are struggling with injury concerns, with four key players unavailable here. Former Leicester player Chris Wood should be fit to start, however, having returned as a substitute at the weekend. He has scored in his last three appearances against his former club.

Scoring goals has been a real concern for Burnley all season, whoever has played upfront, and with only 24 goals going in at Turf Moor, that’s the lowest of any Premier League ground.

Against Leicester, they must press hard in the knowledge that their opponents are not at their strongest right now either.

Star Man – Chris Wood

Burnley’s top scorer must prove against his old side that he has what it takes to lead his club to Premier League survival.

Leicester City Preview

Form Guide (all comps): WDWLL

Reasons to be cheerful:

Have the joint-best away record this season

Could go back into 2nd before Manchester United play afterwards

Reasons to be fearful:

Harvey Barnes will miss up to six weeks after knee surgery

Jonny Evans and Jamie Vardy both late fitness doubts

Leicester will have been disappointed with the way in which they were brushed aside last weekend, by an Arsenal side who have languished down in the bottom half of the table for much of the season.

With all hopes of catching Manchester City at the top of the table now gone, their focus must be on securing Champions League football for next season. They and Manchester United appear locked in a race for 2nd place right now.

They will have to cope for much of the remainder of the season without a key player, Harvey Barnes, who is out with a knee injury. The youngster has excellent this season, scoring 13 times and assisting a further four. James Maddison is also out.

The Foxes must also hope that Jamie Vardy has shaken off a knock ready to start here.

Star Man – Jamie Vardy

The striker has just one goal in his last 14 league appearances, but must be at his best here without the likes of Barnes and Maddison in support.

Can Leicester shake off the weekend’s defeat?

Leicester will win if they score first

Burnley must be compact and counter quickly

This is as good a time to play Leicester as there’s been so far this season, with their star striker on a goal drought, and two top class attacking midfielders injured.

Their goal threat is going to be reduced, but can Burnley capitalise having struggled going forward all season?

Leicester are certainly favourites here, but it’s going to be close.
