After back-to-back home defeats in the Indian Super League, Chennaiyin return to the Marina Arena determined to turn things around when they face Sporting Delhi on Friday at 7:30 PM. The visitors, however, arrive brimming with confidence after a string of strong results and will be eager to maintain their momentum with another impressive away performance.

Current Standings: Chennaiyin finds itself in the bottom half of the table in 12th spot with five points, whereas Sporting Delhi edges closer to the top half at ninth with eight points.

Head-to-head Record: It will be the first ISL meeting between the teams since Hyderabad FC rebranded as Sporting Delhi.

Chennaiyin FC Preview

There was little joy for Chennaiyin FC at the Marina Arena, as they slumped to consecutive home defeats—most recently a 3-1 loss to East Bengal FC, following a 2-1 setback against Inter Kashi.

Much like the Kashi game, the Marina Machans were undone by two quick goals, this time conceding twice in the closing stages despite briefly finding hope through Irfan Yadwad’s equaliser.

The result leaves them winless at home after three matches, with defensive frailties—six goals conceded—emerging as a major concern for Clifford Miranda.

On the positive side, Irfan Yadwad’s recent form—two goals in his last three games—offers a timely relief for Miranda amid their struggles.

Chennaiyin Probable XI -  Mohammad Nawaz (GK); Renthlei, Pritam Kotal, Elsinho, Mandar Rao Dessai, Mohammed Ali Bemammer, Alberto Noguera, Farukh Choudhary, Irfan Yadwad, Maheson Singh, Inigo Martin.

Sporting Club Delhi Preview

What initially looked like a tough start for the rebranded Delhi franchise has quickly turned into a promising campaign.

Now based in Hyderabad, they are unbeaten in their last four matches (W2 D2) and head into this fixture on the back of consecutive wins.

Their most recent result—a dominant 3-0 away victory over NorthEast United—highlighted their growing confidence, with Joseph Sunny starring with a brace and an assist for Mohammad Aimen.

The win lifted them up the table, leaving them just three points shy of Inter Kashi in eighth place.

Notably, assistant coach Noel Joseph led the side from the touchline in that game, with head coach Tomasz Tchorz serving a suspension.

Sporting Delhi Probable XI -  Nora Fernandes (GK); Rafael Ribeiro, Alex Saji, Manoj Mohammad, Abdul Halik Hudu, Lalrochana, L. Semkholun, Ousmane Fane, Sunny, Matija Babović, Mohammed Aimen.

Sporting Delhi have a strong chance to make it three wins from three against a struggling Chennaiyin side, who have managed just one victory in their last seven Super League matches.

Given current form, Delhi look well placed to take at least a point, and a win wouldn’t be a surprise. Interestingly, bookmakers still favour Chennaiyin, pricing them at 1.89, with Delhi at 3.8 and the draw at 3.4.

We predict a draw (1-1)
