Fascinating clash of top four teams Chelsea and Leicester takes place days after FA Cup final
Chelsea to win 2-1
Tournament: Premier League 2020-2021 | Venue: London, Stamford Bridge
Bet NowVery rarely does a game of such magnitude take place this close to the end of the season, especially after the two teams involved clashed in an FA Cup final just days beforehand.
Leicester will be on cloud nine after claiming their first ever FA Cup, beating Chelsea with a brilliant performance and equally brilliant goal by Youri Tielemans.
This game comes with its own complications, however. Should Leicester win, they’ll be guaranteed a top four spot, with Chelsea at the mercy of 5th placed Liverpool.
Should Chelsea win, they’ll climb above Leicester into third, giving Liverpool the chance to overtake Leicester instead.
Either way, whoever loses this game faces dropping out of the top four and missing out on the Champions League, should Liverpool win their remaining fixtures.
There is plenty riding on this game, with all three potential results have huge implications on their seasons, as well as that of Liverpool.

Reasons to be cheerful:
Will be determined to get revenge after FA Cup final defeat
Just four league defeats since the start of 2021
Reasons to be fearful:
Lost two games in a row for first time under Tuchel
Haven’t scored in their last two games
There is arguably more riding on this game for Chelsea than there is for Leicester.
Either way, it’s a great season for Leicester, winning their first ever FA Cup. Should they miss out on the Champions League next season, it would be disappointing, but for Chelsea it would be disastrous.
Thomas Tuchel was brought in to help guide Chelsea back into the top four, and defeat here could mean that he misses out, although they have the opportunity of winning the Champions League at the end of the season.
For the first time under his leadership, they have lost two on the bounce having also fallen to defeat against Arsenal in their most recent league game.
He will need to redirect his ship quickly to avoid disappointment here.
Star Man – Mason Mount
Was one of Chelsea’s better performers against Leicester at the weekend and can help break them down here.

Reasons to be cheerful:
FA Cup victory will have their confidence through the roof
Have beaten Chelsea twice already this season
Reasons to be fearful:
Have cup celebrations taken away their focus?
Will fear a repeat of the end of last season
What a week it has been for Leicester City and their fans. If beating Manchester United to help their top four cause wasn’t enough, they’ve gone and won the FA Cup for the first time in their history.
It’s capped a brilliant season so far for Brendan Rodgers and his players, although there will still be disappointment should they fail to quality for the Champions League once again.
They were shunted out of the top four on the final day of last season by Manchester United, and they will fear that the same could happen again should they lose to Chelsea here. Liverpool would then have the chance to overtake them if they win their final two games, with a better goal difference.
While Leicester’s confidence will be high, will their determination be quite the same after the celebrations that followed the cup win? Only time will tell.
Star Man – Youri Tielemans
Scored one of the best FA Cup final goals to win the cup, and has had a brilliant season in Leicester’s midfield.
A game very close to call
Chelsea will once again boss possession
Likely to be one goal to separate the teams
As we saw at the weekend, Chelsea are a side who can control possession with their talented midfielders, but can they find away through a talented Leicester defence?
Both teams will play the same way as they did at the weekend, but you would expect an even greater level of determination here.
It would be more shocking for Chelsea to miss out on Champions League football than Leicester, and Tuchel will set up his side accordingly.
Chelsea to win 2-1
