One thing which Thomas Tuchel has brought to Chelsea is an increased solidarity in recent weeks. Already five games into his reign at Stamford Bridge, with four wins and a draw coming during that period, with just the one goal conceded.

They now have the sights set once again on a top four position, with clubs such as Liverpool slipping up once again. Indeed, the Blues could overtake the Reds with a win here.

Here, they look to continue a formidable record against a Newcastle side who are one of the worst teams in the league on current form and have slumped to 17th position, although have a 10 point buffer on the relegation zone.

Just when you thought Newcastle’s season could not get much worse, their best player Callum Wilson gets himself injured for six to eight weeks.

Wilson, who has scored 40% of all Newcastle’s goals this season, will leave a huge gap in The Magpie’s forward areas. With Jeff Hendrick also suspended, Almiron is now the only Magpies player available to have scored more than a single goal all season.

They have slumped to 17th position, courtesy of strong form from the likes of Brighton and Burnley of late. While the buffer to relegation is 10 points currently, they will not want this gap to close further.

Against Chelsea, they will not want their abysmal record of seven straight defeats at Stamford Bridge to continue.
