Remarkably, this is probably the only Premier League fixture that doesn’t have anything riding on it this weekend, with both teams able to relax from the fear of relegation.

Both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have climbed away from danger in recent weeks, picking up points where others have stalled.

Palace made the right decision in bringing Roy Hodgson back for the final 10 games of the season, and are safe on 40 points with three to play.

With a home fixture here, and another against Nottingham Forest to end the campaign, they’ll be confident of improving their position even further.

Similarly, Bournemouth have impressed at times this season, with the inexperienced Gary O’Neil trusted to take charge of the club part-way through the campaign. It’s a decision that’s paid off, with the club on 39 points and with the opportunity to move into 12th with victory here.

Crystal Palace Preview

Reasons to be cheerful:

Lost just one of their last eight at home

Michael Olise can set a new club-record for assists

Reasons to be fearful:

Have they taken their foot off the gas recently?

Milivojevic, Schlupp, Tomkins and Ferguson likely out due to injury

Crystal Palace have never been in the bottom three this season, although they were just three points ahead of danger when Patrick Vieira was removed from his post a couple of months ago.

Now, that gap sits at a very healthy 10 points, with Roy Hodgson getting to work quickly in his first seven matches in charge, winning four of them.

They lost in their most recent game, away to Tottenham, and you just wonder whether some of that spark has disappeared from their play, knowing that they are now safe this season.

We’ll find out here, although their opponents are in a similar space right now. Their home record has been excellent of late, losing just one of their last eight and scoring seven in their last three at Selhurst Park.

If they win their remaining three games of the season, they’ll set a joint-club record of 49 points for a Premier League campaign.

Star Man – Michael Olise

With nine assists this season, Olise needs just one more to set a new club record in that department. He provided both assists during Palace’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth earlier this season.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Reasons to be cheerful

Won their last three away from home

Kieffer Moore returns after a head injury

Reasons to be fearful

Won just two of their 11 meetings with Palace

Lost their last game against this weekend’s opponents

Interestingly, Bournemouth would be 12th in the league if only away results counted, showing that they have been better on their travels compared to some of their rivals.

Indeed, they have won their last three away games on the bounce – against Leicester, Tottenham and Southampton – and another one here would not only take them above Crystal Palace, but it would also equal their club record of six for the season.

Like their opponents here, they have little to play for apart from their pride, with safety now sewn up after recent positive results.

Can they push on again here, despite their poor record against Palace?

Star Man – Dominic Solanke

Solanke has had a hand in each of Bournemouth last four away goals, scoring one and assisting three. In fact, 10 of his 13 goal involvements have come away from home this campaign.

     Game could lack intensity

First goal could be the winner

Home crowd could be decisive for Palace

Crystal Palace clearly enjoy playing at home, while Bournemouth have gone on an excellent away run of late.

Here, the first goal will be vitally important, with neither side needing victory to stay up or achieve a European position.

The home crowd at Selhurst Park has worked wonders of late, especially since the return of Roy Hodgson, and they should just about have the edge here.
