Everton FC Preview

The Toffees' winning streak now stands at four games after defeating Ipswich Town last week. Given that they will be playing Southampton next, Dyche's team will be hoping to extend their winning streak to six weeks in a row if they can defeat or draw with Fulham this Saturday.

One of the reasons for Everton's recent turnaround, albeit brief, has been due to Dyche's tactical shift in the team's combination. By moving McNeil into a more central role behind the striker and bringing Ndiaye into the starting XI, Dyche has been able to improve the team's performance.

Naturally, McNeil and Ndiaye are the main contributors to this team's success. Ndiaye scored the first goal and McNeil assisted on the second in the game against Ipswich. Because of Ndiaye's skill at carrying the ball, there is now more room up front for the others to manoeuvre. McNeil has been able to enjoy himself up front as a result, and he has done so effectively, contributing three goals and three assists thus far.

Jarrad Branthwaite’s return to action was brief due to recurrence of the injury, while James Garner is back on the sidelines following a muscular injury. In the meantime, Jesper Limestorm could be fit enough to find a place on the bench on Saturday.

Everton Probable XI - Jordan Pickford (GK); Ashley Young, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Orel Mangala, Idrissa Gueye, Jack Harrison, Dwight McNeil, Iliman Ndiaye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Fulham FC Preview

After a brief spell of success in a couple of games , the Cottagers have finally caught on a web of defeats, two to be precise. The recent one against Villa would still be stinging as it came after gaining a lead early. Nevertheless, they were reduced to 10 men in the 2nd half and it was always going to be tough defending  against Aston Villa with a man down. Add to that, they conceded a own-goal.

In their match against Villa, they struggled to contain Tielemans and Rogers, who frequently peppered the central area of the pitch. Without Lukic, the Cottagers struggled to plug the gaps between defence and midfield. Villa's equaliser was an excellent example of this.  Raul Jimenez has four goals and one assist in his past five Premier League outings for Fulham. No Cottagers player has done so for six games in a row.

Joachim Anderson, who was sent off against Villa, will serve his one-game suspension this weekend. Meanwhile, Castagne, Lukic and Carlos Vinicius are all set to miss out on selection until at least the beginning of November.

Fulham Probable XI - Bernd Leno (GK); Kenny Tete, Calvin Bassey, Issa Diop, Antonee Robinson, Andreas Pereira, Sander Berge, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi, Raul Jimenez

Everton's once-impressive 27-game unbeaten home streak in the Premier League, which lasted from 1949 to 2018, has been shattered in recent years. The Toffees have lost their last three home matches, and Fulham has remained undefeated in their last five Premier League games against Everton. However, Everton can draw confidence from their unbeaten record in nine of their 11 most recent home matches across all competitions.

The bookmakers' betting odds favor Fulham to win the fixture, with odds of 2.60 to Everton's 2.70 and odds of a draw of 3.40. The expected goals (xG) for the match are predicted to be 2.5. Given the close competition between the teams, predicting the outcome of this match is challenging. However, Everton's recent defensive improvements might not sop from Fulham FC clinching a win in this fixture.
