There are some results that make you think that a team is simply destined to win the Premier League. We’ve seen it from Manchester City and Liverpool in recent seasons.

Recently, it has been Arsenal’s turn to show the strength of champions in coming from losing positions to win late on. Last weekend, they overturned a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2, with the winner coming in the 97th minute.

It ensured that Arsenal would hold onto their five-point lead at the top, although Manchester City remain on their coattails ready for any slip-ups.

Fulham have a European place in their sights if they can keep up their current run of form. They are in 7th place, although have played more games than any of the teams around them.

Against Arsenal, you’d think they’d have a proper go at them, especially at Craven Cottage.

Fulham FC Preview

Reasons to be cheerful:

Scored 10 goals in their last six games

Confidence will be high despite Brentford defeat last weekend

Reasons to be fearful:

Winless in their last nine league games against Arsenal

And, the Cottagers have lost 16 of their last 18 against teams at the top of the league

Fulham’s main barrier to clinging onto a European place in the Premier League will be the number of games they’ve played compared with other teams around them.

Brentford and Brighton can overtake Fulham in the table if they win their games in hand, while Newcastle and Liverpool can pull further away if they win theirs. That would see Fulham drop down to 9th.

They will feel confident coming into this game however. Not due to their record against Arsenal – they have lost seven of their last nine meetings – but because of the way they have been playing this season.

Marco Silva has done a wonderful job of making Fulham into a genuine top-half Premier League club once again.

Star Man – Manor Solomon

Solomon has now scored in each of his last five games for Fulham, taking up the slack from Aleksandar Mitrovic while the Serbian has gone off the boil.

Arsenal FC Preview

Reasons to be cheerful

Only ever lost three of their 31 league games against Fulham

Aiming for a fifth win on the bounce

Reasons to be fearful

Will accumulation of fixtures get the better of them?

Trossard may miss out through injury

After almost dropping points against Bournemouth last weekend, the Gunners face another tricky test away to fellow London club Fulham.

The Cottagers have been in excellent form at times this season and won’t be a pushover for Mikel Arteta’s men. That said, Arsenal’s form against Fulham has been exceptional over the years.

Furthermore, the Gunners have enjoyed the best away record so far this season, winning 10 of their 13 matches. They’ve also scored the most away goals throughout the campaign, netting 25.

Of course, with the Europa League starting again, Arsenal have been to Portugal and back just three days before this game. Can their stretched squad keep up with the amount of game time?

Star Man – Bukayo Saka

The electric wingman was brilliant yet again in Arsenal’s comeback win over Bournemouth – scoring once and providing an assist too.

Should be chances at both ends

Game could come down to the final minutes

Will Arsenal rotate team again with European football in mind?

None of Arsenal’s games will be easy or straightforward between now and the end of the season. When going for the title, other teams automatically play at their best to try and stop you.

Fulham will have no problem in upping their game here, knowing that they have a great chance to get one over on their London rivals.

It’s Arsenal that have all the pressure on their shoulders but you’d expect them to find a way – they always seem to these days.
